Intended for scuba divers and snorkelers alike, the Atomic Bladefins are truly a work of art, with a power-loop monocoque structure that gives you more control over their movements.

These fins showcase Atomic Aquatics’ technological innovation. A monocoque design that fuses the upper and lower blades together in one structural shell, the Atomic Blade is an extremely low-volume fin with unrivaled power and remarkable comfort.

The result of this spectacular design is a foot pocket that acts as an extension of your leg, improving the natural angle of your foot while swimming. It must be said that the Atomic blade Fins offer a remarkably comfortable fit that eliminates painful stress points that occur when using traditional fins.

The result is a fin so good, that it will change how you feel about every other fin you’ve ever worn.

Review

These fins are impressively durable, provide an easy and effortless kick and are remarkably comfortable due to the soft material composition. The fins come with a foot pocket power plate, power rails and vertical stabilizers which will ensure enhanced efficiency of power transfer with each kick – they really do feel like a simple extension of your leg.

The soft material is not only comfortable but also makes these fins easy to put on and take off. The EZ-LOK buckle system offers easy foot strap adjustment equipped with a handy pull tab for added convenience in putting them on and taking them off. This is also means that you don’t have to worry about getting any fingers trapped between the hard back of your heel and the strap itself.

The Atomic Blade Fins are a great pair of fins for intermediate and advanced divers who are looking to maximize their level of comfort and confidence when scuba diving or snorkeling.

Features

The Atomic Aquatics Bladefin is a must-have for every scuba diver who is looking for a reliable, durable, and comfortable pair of fins.

The fins use a patented power loop monocoque structure which allows for the superior durability of the material, the flexibility of the blade and provides user confidence in its performance in an innovative way. What that means for you is a more powerful and efficient kick with less effort and more comfort.

The Atomic Blade Fins are constructed with soft materials and have an ergonomic fit. The foot pocket is made from a soft rubber material that is designed to provide comfort and reduce fatigue. The vertical stabilizers on the backside of the blade help to guide the fin in a straight line, which again reduces fatigue and strain on your legs.

A hole is located on of the front of the foot pocket, which makes it easier to remove your boot by avoiding suction. These fins will keep your feet secure whether you’re strolling on sand or on the deck of a boat because to the high amount of grip below.

Strap

The EZ-LOK buckle system makes it so easy to take off your fins after a tiring dive as you don’t have to re-adjust your straps. The buckles rotate 180 degrees working on a single direction and can be easily adjusted with just a pull of the strap pull tab. A massive benefit of the pull tab is that you can be confident when donning the fin as your fingers won’t get trapped between your foot and the strap itself.

On cheaper fin products, we’ve found these pull tabs encourage users to put more pressure on the strap which ends up breaking – this should not be an issue on high quality fins such as these.

Blade

The Atomic Blade Fins feature an innovative foot pocket power plate that increases power transfer between you and your fin. This is achieved as a hard rubber plate is attached inside the foot pocket where it acts as a brace between your leg and the fin’s blade. This technology provides additional stiffness to prevent power loss during the kicking cycle although people with high foot arches might find this to be a little uncomfortable.

The blade edge has vertical stabilizers in the center for added stability and control. The edges of the blade utilize a thin design to reduce drag and increase comfort during a long dive through added flexibility. The power rails on either side of the fin run the length of the blade to enhance energy transfer by channeling water in a single direction during the down kick.

Do we recommend it?

This editor would rate this product a solid 9/10. Our experienced team of divers have reviewed many different fins over the years and it turns out, the Atomic Blade Fins belong in the top 5 products on the market.

They’re extremely durable and hold up very well despite being put through some pretty tough conditions. Their innovative design features and impressive comfort levels take this fin up to the 9/10 mark.

The decision to not assign a 10/10 recommendation to this product came down to one thing. The power plate on the inside of the foot pocket proved to be uncomfortable for one of our divers who has particularly high arches in his feet. The power plate is necessary however to make up for the power lost in the added flexibility in the blade. We recommend that you purchase this from a website that will allow returns or simply go try them out in your local dive shop!
