DIVEIN's take
Why buy from Amazon?

Amazon has a documented Prime delivery program that covers millions of items, and that is the most concrete order-related support behind buying here.

Worth knowing

Some customers report slower replies or needing more follow-up than expected when they asked for help after ordering. If an order needs post-purchase support, that part of the experience is not always smooth.

Some customers also report delivery problems after ordering. That keeps follow-up and delivery as the areas to watch if you place the order here.

  • Available in 5, 10, and 20 liter sizes to suit anything from a phone and wallet to a change of clothes.
  • The roll-down closure keeps water out during splashing and rain, not full submersion, so pack accordingly.

  • Reflective trim around the zip pocket helps you spot the bag in low light or retrieve it if it goes overboard.

  • A good fit for divers, paddlers, and beach-goers who need reliable everyday dry storage on the water.

Skog Å Kust DrySak Roll-Top Waterproof Bag: A Compact Dry Bag for Keeping Gear Dry on the Water

The DrySak is a roll-top waterproof bag designed to protect your phone, wallet, keys, and other essentials from water when you are out on a boat, kayak, or at the beach.

It is not a dive bag and it is not rated for submersion. If you are a diver looking for something to clip to your BCD or drop underwater, this is not that product. But if you need a reliable way to keep your surface gear dry while you are getting in and out of the water, or while you are waiting on the boat between dives, the DrySak does that job well.

How the Waterproofing Works

The bag is built from 500-denier PVC, a thick, heavy-duty vinyl material that resists punctures and abrasion better than the thin plastic used in cheaper dry bags.

The seams are welded, not sewn. Sewn seams leave needle holes that can leak under pressure; welded seams fuse the material together so there is no path for water to enter.

The roll-top closure works by rolling the opening down several times and then clipping or buckling it shut. The more times you roll it, the more water-resistant the seal becomes. This is the same closure system used on serious outdoor dry bags.

The bag carries an IPX-6 rating, which means it is tested to resist powerful water jets from any direction. That covers rain, splashing waves, and the spray you get on a kayak or RIB (rigid inflatable boat). It does not mean the bag is rated for submersion, so do not rely on it if it goes fully underwater.

Sizes Available

The DrySak comes in three sizes so you can match the bag to what you actually need to carry.

Size Best for
5 Liter Phone, keys, cards, and a small wallet
10 Liter The above plus a light layer, snacks, or a small camera
20 Liter A full change of clothes, towel, and personal items

The 10-liter version reviewed here weighs just under 354 grams and measures 21 inches tall by 13.5 inches wide when laid flat, giving you a good sense of how much it can hold once rolled and sealed.

The Outer Zip Pocket

One practical addition is the splash-proof zip pocket on the outside of the bag.

This matters more than it sounds. When you need your boat key or dive site card, you do not want to break the waterproof seal on the main compartment to fish around for it. The outer pocket keeps small, frequently-needed items within reach without compromising the protection inside.

It is splash-proof, not waterproof, so do not store anything in that pocket that cannot handle a brief splash or spray.

Carrying Options

The DrySak comes with a removable, adjustable shoulder strap as well as a web handle.

The shoulder strap detaches when you do not need it, which keeps the bag from feeling bulky on a crowded dive boat. It can also be attached to a boat cleat or kayak rigging to keep the bag from sliding around or going overboard.

The reflective trim around the outer pocket zipper is a small but useful detail. If the bag goes over the side, the reflective strip makes it easier to spot in low light.

What to Keep in Mind

The DrySak is a straightforward, well-built dry bag for surface use. A few things worth knowing before you buy:

  • Not rated for submersion. IPX-6 covers jets and spray, not being dropped in the water. If there is any chance the bag will go fully under, keep your most critical items in a separate waterproof case inside.
  • Vinyl construction. PVC is durable and waterproof but stiffer than TPU-based bags. It holds its shape well but may feel less packable if you are trying to stuff it into a tight gear bag.
  • 90-day money-back guarantee. That is the manufacturer's stated warranty, which is shorter than what some competitors offer. Worth factoring in if longevity is a concern.
  • Clean design. No large logos or branding on the outside, which some people appreciate and others find makes the bag harder to identify in a pile of gear on a boat deck.

If you want a no-fuss way to keep your phone, wallet, and a spare layer dry between dives or on a day out on the water, the DrySak is a practical choice. Just know its limits and pack accordingly.
