Why buy from Amazon?

Amazon has a documented Prime delivery program that covers millions of items, and that is the most concrete order-related support behind buying here.

Worth knowing

Some customers report slower replies or needing more follow-up than expected when they asked for help after ordering. If an order needs post-purchase support, that part of the experience is not always smooth.

Some customers also report delivery problems after ordering. That keeps follow-up and delivery as the areas to watch if you place the order here.

DIVEIN's take
Why buy from House of Scuba?

House of Scuba publishes a defined return process for eligible items, including when credit or a refund applies and where fees or exclusions can affect the outcome. If you want the retailer's own terms in place before ordering, that is the most concrete reason to buy here.

It also states a continental U.S. free-shipping offer with exclusions, so the order terms are not left entirely to guesswork. That does not guarantee every item qualifies, but the policy itself is part of the buying case.

Worth knowing

Some customers describe friction around returns or refunds, and some also report slower replies or needing extra follow-up when they asked for help after ordering. Read the return terms closely before placing the order, especially the condition, packaging, and fee limits that can change the result.

Sherwood CAI Semi-Dry Snorkel: Adult Semi-Dry Snorkel with Purge Valve and Quick-Disconnect Clip

The Sherwood CAI Semi-Dry Snorkel is a surface-breathing tube built for recreational snorkelers and scuba divers who want to stay comfortable on the surface without constantly clearing water out of their mouth.

If you spend time floating on the surface between dives, or you snorkel regularly in choppy or windy conditions, this one is worth a close look.

What "Semi-Dry" Actually Means

A semi-dry snorkel is not fully sealed at the top. Instead, it uses a shield or deflector at the opening that redirects waves, wind, and splash before they can drop straight down the tube.

Small amounts of water can still enter in rough conditions, which is why the CAI also includes a deep reservoir and a one-way purge valve below the mouthpiece. Water that does get in collects in that reservoir rather than reaching your mouth. One short exhale pushes it out through the purge valve.

This is a practical middle ground. It handles real surface conditions better than a basic open-top snorkel, without the added bulk of a full dry-top mechanism.

Comfort in the Water

The mouthpiece and the corrugated lower tube are both made from 100% silicone. Silicone is softer and more flexible than the hard plastic used in budget snorkels, and it holds its shape against your teeth and lips without causing jaw fatigue on longer swims.

The corrugated section is the flexible, ribbed part of the tube that sits near your jaw. It lets the mouthpiece move naturally with your head position rather than pulling or twisting.

The tube itself has a contoured, hydrodynamic shape. That means it curves close to your head rather than sticking straight up, which reduces drag when you are swimming and keeps the snorkel from pulling at your mask.

The Swivel Mouthpiece

The mouthpiece on the CAI can swing away from your face when you descend on a scuba dive. This is a small but genuinely useful detail. When you switch to your regulator and go underwater, a fixed mouthpiece can press awkwardly against your chin or create drag. A swivel mouthpiece drops out of the way and stays there until you need it again at the surface.

Attaching and Removing It

The CAI comes with a Quick-Disconnect snorkel keeper. This is the clip that holds the snorkel to your mask strap. A standard keeper requires you to thread the strap through a loop, which can be fiddly to remove. The quick-disconnect version lets you detach the snorkel from your mask cleanly and quickly, which matters when you are switching between snorkeling and scuba, or packing gear after a dive.

The mouthpiece is also removable, which makes the snorkel easier to rinse and dry after use.

Who This Snorkel Is For

The CAI is sized for adults. It suits snorkelers who want reliable surface performance in varied conditions, and scuba divers who keep a snorkel on their mask for surface swims to and from the boat or shore.

If you only snorkel in very calm, flat water, a simpler open-top snorkel would do the job. The semi-dry design earns its place in choppier conditions or anywhere wind and surface movement are regular factors.

If you want a fully sealed dry-top that blocks water entry completely, the CAI is not that. No semi-dry snorkel is. The deflector reduces water entry significantly, but the purge valve is there because some water will still get in.
