If the bezel is accidentally knocked while you are underwater, it can only rotate in a direction that makes your remaining time appear shorter, never longer. That prevents you from thinking you have more time than you do.

120 clicks gives finer resolution than the 60-click bezels found on many dive watches. Each click represents 30 seconds rather than one minute, so you can set your elapsed time more precisely.
