DUI has been building telescoping torso dry suits since the 1980s. The telescoping torso on the Yukon II is the practical result of that history. It allows you to lengthen the suit to get it on and off solo, then cinch it down with the internal waist adjustment cord once you are dressed. Combined with the crotch strap and built-in suspenders, the fit is secure without being rigid.

The Fabric

The shell is a rip-stop nylon and butyl rubber/polyester trilaminate. Trilaminate means three bonded layers: an outer fabric, a waterproof membrane, and an inner fabric. It is not neoprene. It does not provide thermal insulation on its own, so you will wear a separate undersuit beneath it matched to your water temperature.

The advantage of trilaminate over neoprene is that it is thinner, more compressible, and does not change buoyancy as you descend the way neoprene does. The rip-stop nylon outer layer adds resistance to tearing and abrasion. Seams are double-coated for watertight integrity.

DUI also adds a dual layer of material at the knees, which matters if you kneel on rock or coral rubble regularly.

Entry and Sealing

The zipper runs diagonally across the front, from the right shoulder down to the left hip. This is a front-entry configuration, which means you can get the suit on without help, a genuine practical advantage if you dive from small boats or shore.

The zipper itself is a YKK plastic zipper. Plastic dry suit zippers require regular lubrication and careful handling, but they are well-proven in the industry and YKK is a trusted manufacturer.

Neck and wrist seals are DUI's Zip-Seal G2 system. These are replaceable zip-on seals rather than traditional glued latex or neoprene rings. The practical benefit is that you can swap a damaged seal yourself without sending the suit in for service, which reduces downtime significantly if you dive frequently.

A warm neck collar sits over the neck seal area for added comfort at the surface and during entries.

Valves and Inflation

Buoyancy in a dry suit is managed by adding air from your tank through an inflator valve, and venting it through an exhaust valve as you ascend. The Yukon II uses Apeks swivel inflator and adjustable automatic exhaust valves, both well-regarded components in the dry suit world.

The swivel inflator is a small but useful detail. It lets the valve rotate to a comfortable position rather than forcing you to reach at an awkward angle to connect or disconnect your low-pressure hose.

The suit ships with a 36-inch (91.5 cm) Miflex low-pressure hose with a 3/8-inch thread and an oversized quick disconnect. Miflex hoses are braided and flexible, which reduces the stiff arm pull that standard hoses can create in cold water.

Boots and Pockets

The Yukon II has attached Ultra-Flex boots, so there is no separate boot purchase needed and no risk of water entering at a boot junction. You wear dry suit socks over your feet inside the boots, and fins go over the top.

The pocket system is more substantial than most suits carry:

• Large cargo pocket on the right thigh, with three internal compartments and six bungee tethers for securing small items. One compartment fits a spare mask. A thinner compartment is sized for a wet notes slate.
• External zippered pocket on the cargo assembly for quick-access items.
• Stowaway wrist pocket on the right wrist, a low-profile pocket sized for a small knife or cutting tool.

If you regularly carry a slate, a spare mask, a DSMB, or other tools, this layout gives you real organizational options without clipping everything to a D-ring.

Fit and Sizing

The Yukon II is listed as a custom dry suit, meaning sizing is not off-the-shelf in the way a wetsuit is. DUI builds to measurements, which matters for a dry suit more than almost any other piece of gear. A suit that is too long in the torso or too wide in the shoulders will trap air in the wrong places and make buoyancy control harder.
