A 100M (330 feet) water-resistance rating sounds like plenty of depth for a diver, but the ISO standards behind these ratings are not the same as dive equipment standards. A 100M-rated watch is designed to handle swimming, snorkeling, and brief shallow submersion. If your goal is a wrist instrument for scuba diving, look for products built specifically to ISO 6425 standards with a minimum 200M dive rating, a unidirectional bezel for tracking dive time, and clear underwater legibility. Those are the specs that matter when you are underwater and relying on your wrist.
