You can’t really go wrong with this AC2 first stage and XS2 second stage. Both are made of the kind of high-quality materials we’d expect from Cressi and are durable. Most of Cressi’s scuba gear has a reputation for dependability and these regulators are no different.
This reg is simple to use and simple to maintain, and because it isn’t jam-packed with the kinds of bells and whistles entry-level divers don’t need, maintenance costs are generally low.
About this review
To help you find a Scuba Regulator that will fit your needs, we’ve tested, researched, and reviewed the best ones available today.
We test both in the water, diving in various conditions - and in our lab - so we can give you accurate answers on quality, performance, and the overall value.

Things we like:
- This reg is a workhorse that just keeps going.
- Durable and can take heavy use.
- The lightweight second stage is ideal for divers who don’t like a heavy reg in their mouth.
Things we don't like:
- Unbalanced.
- The purge button is quite small in comparison to comparable products.

Why buy from House of Scuba?
House of Scuba publishes a defined return process for eligible items, including when credit or a refund applies and where fees or exclusions can affect the outcome. If you want the retailer's own terms in place before ordering, that is the most concrete reason to buy here.
It also states a continental U.S. free-shipping offer with exclusions, so the order terms are not left entirely to guesswork. That does not guarantee every item qualifies, but the policy itself is part of the buying case.
Worth knowing
Some customers describe friction around returns or refunds, and some also report slower replies or needing extra follow-up when they asked for help after ordering. Read the return terms closely before placing the order, especially the condition, packaging, and fee limits that can change the result.
