Back Inflation: What It Means for You

Zeagle's Personal Fit System is the most practical thing about this BCD. Rather than offering five or six fixed sizes, the Fury comes in just two models, regular and large, and adjusts across a very wide range through fully independent shoulder straps, a torso-length adjustment, and an adjustable padded cummerbund at the waist.

The regular model fits roughly XS through XL, and the large covers up to 2XL. That matters if your body shape sits between standard sizes, if you switch between a 3mm and a 7mm wetsuit across seasons, or if you share gear occasionally.

Every strap uses a squeeze-style side-release buckle, which is faster and more intuitive to operate than traditional pull-tab buckles, especially with gloves on. The sternum strap has two fixed positions so you can set the chest closure where it actually sits on your torso rather than where the manufacturer assumes it should.

Lift Capacity

For most recreational diving with a single aluminum or steel cylinder, 26 lbs is sufficient. If you dive dry or in thick neoprene and need more buoyancy compensation, the large model's 35 lbs gives you meaningful headroom.

Weight Integration: The Ripcord System

The Fury RC comes with Zeagle's Ripcord Weight System, and the capacity here is notably generous.

• Releasable weight pockets: up to 20 lbs (9.1 kg) total, operated by the Ripcord pull mechanism for a fast, reliable emergency drop.
• Non-releasable trim pockets: up to 10 lbs (4.54 kg) at the rear, for fine-tuning your horizontal position without affecting your emergency drop weight.

Zeagle notes that the weight system is modular and interchangeable. If you later want to switch from the Ripcord release to their quick-lock release system, the BCD can accommodate that without replacing the whole jacket.

Bladder and Dump Valves

The inner bladder is RF-welded 420D TPU-coated nylon, a construction method that bonds seams with heat rather than stitching, which removes a common leak point. The outer shell is 1000-denier nylon, which is a genuinely heavy-duty fabric. Most BCDs in this category use lighter materials.

Buoyancy control on ascent and at the surface uses four dump points:

• Left shoulder: cable-activated dump valve, operated by pulling the corrugated hose downward.
• Right shoulder: pull-dump valve.
• Lower left and right rear: overpressure relief valves that open automatically if the bladder overfills, and can also be pulled manually.

Having dumps at both shoulders and both lower rear corners means you can vent air efficiently in almost any body position, which matters most during controlled ascents and safety stops.

Bungee retractor bands hold the bladder snug against the back plate when deflated. This keeps the BCD from ballooning outward on the surface and helps the bladder empty faster when you dump.

The Bx Power Inflator

The Fury uses Zeagle's own Bx Power Inflator, which connects to your regulator's low-pressure hose via a 3/8-inch threaded quick-disconnect fitting. The practical detail worth knowing: the lower mechanism threads off so you can attach a garden hose and rinse the inside of the bladder directly after a dive. Storage and Cylinder Attachment

Two zippered pockets cover the basics for a recreational dive, a surface marker buoy, a small torch, a slate. The D-rings give you attachment points for accessories without routing everything through a pocket.

The cylinder is held by dual cam-band tank straps, which grip a single cylinder firmly. This is a single-tank BCD; it is not configured for twinset or sidemount use.

Who This BCD Is and Is Not For

The Fury RC suits a recreational diver who wants a BCD that fits precisely, carries enough weight for cold-water or drysuit diving, and is built to last well beyond a few seasons.

It is a particularly good fit if your body shape makes standard sizing awkward, or if you dive in varying exposure suits across the year and need the BCD to adapt.

It is not the right choice if you are looking for a travel-light BCD. The 1000-denier shell and the full weight system add bulk and mass. There is no backplate-and-wing configuration here, so technical or overhead divers who need that geometry should look elsewhere.
