Tusa Zensee Pro: Frameless Recreational Dive Mask with Premium Optics

The Tusa Zensee Pro is a single-lens, frameless scuba mask built around one idea: get as much light and as clear a view to your eyes as possible, while fitting as many face shapes as comfortably as it can.

If you are a recreational diver who has worn masks that fog, leak at the cheeks, or leave pressure marks on your face, this is the kind of mask that was designed specifically to address those frustrations.

What "Frameless" Means for You

A frameless mask has no rigid plastic frame holding the lens. The lens bonds directly to the silicone skirt, which makes the whole mask lighter and lets the skirt flex more naturally against your face.

The Zensee Pro takes that flexibility further with what Tusa calls Freedom Technology. The skirt uses varied silicone thickness in specific zones. Around the forehead and cheekbones, small dimples make the silicone softer and more pliable. Under the cheekbones, reinforcing ridges resist inward compression as water pressure increases at depth. These are not marketing concepts; they are structural decisions that address the two most common places masks leak.

The skirt's contact edge is also round in cross-section rather than flat. A round edge spreads pressure more evenly, which reduces both leaking and the red marks a tight mask leaves on your skin after a long dive.

The Lens: Where This Mask Stands Apart

Most dive masks use standard tempered glass, which works fine but absorbs or reflects a meaningful portion of incoming light. The Zensee Pro uses Tusa's CrystalView optical glass, which the company states transmits up to 95% of available light. Standard glass can lose up to 15% of that light to impurities and surface reflectivity.

On top of that, the lens carries an anti-reflective coating that reduces both internal and external reflections. The practical result underwater is better color rendering and contrast, especially in low-visibility conditions or deeper on a grey day when light is already scarce.

The lens also has a UV 420 treatment that blocks high-energy visible light (HEV). HEV sits just above ultraviolet on the spectrum and reaches your eyes even on overcast days. It is the same type of light that blue-light-filtering glasses address on screens. For a diver spending hours in the water across a season, that protection is worth having.

Fit System

Getting a mask to seal reliably across different face shapes is genuinely difficult. The Zensee Pro uses several overlapping systems to solve it:

• 3D SYNQ fitting ring: A structural ring built into the skirt that allows the mask to conform to your specific facial contours rather than forcing your face to conform to the mask.
• Freedom Dry low-friction skirt surface: The inner contact surface of the skirt is designed to reduce friction against skin. This lets the skirt settle into a seal without pulling or distorting, and it reduces the tension you feel after wearing the mask for a full dive.
• 3D split strap: Unlike a flat strap, Tusa's 3D strap is contoured to follow the curve of the back of your head. It distributes hold more evenly and stays in place without needing to be overtightened.
• Swift Buckle 3D: A low-profile, lightweight buckle that adjusts silently with one hand. Useful when you need a quick tweak on the surface.

The nose pocket is designed to be reachable with one hand, and it is sized so you can pinch it even while wearing thick gloves. If you dive in cold water and equalize frequently, that is a practical detail worth noting.

Volume and Field of View

Low internal volume means less air space between the lens and your eyes. That matters for two reasons. First, you use less air from your tank to equalize the mask as you descend. Second, a low-volume mask sits closer to your face, which typically improves peripheral vision.

The Zensee Pro's single wide lens and frameless construction give it a panoramic field of view. There is no central frame dividing your line of sight, and the lens extends further to the sides than a multi-window framed mask would.

Anti-Fog Treatment

The lens comes with a durable anti-fog film applied at the factory. This is not the same as a quick spray of defog solution. It is a physical film bonded to the lens surface, intended to last well beyond the first few dives.

Worth noting: even with a treated lens, most divers find that a brief rinse and gentle preparation before the first dive of the day helps maintain performance. The treatment reduces fogging significantly; it does not eliminate the need for any care at all.

Who This Mask Is Not For

The Zensee Pro is a single-lens frameless mask. If you need prescription lenses, frameless masks are generally not compatible with aftermarket corrective inserts, which are designed for framed masks with a separate lens housing. Check with your optician or dive shop before purchasing if corrective lenses matter to you.

It is also worth saying: no mask fits every face. The Freedom Technology and 3D SYNQ systems give the Zensee Pro an unusually wide fitting range, but the only reliable test is putting it on your face dry, without the strap, and seeing whether it holds suction from a gentle inhale through your nose.
