DIVEIN's take
Why buy from Amazon?

Amazon has a documented Prime delivery program that covers millions of items, and that is the most concrete order-related support behind buying here.

Worth knowing

Some customers report slower replies or needing more follow-up than expected when they asked for help after ordering. If an order needs post-purchase support, that part of the experience is not always smooth.

Some customers also report delivery problems after ordering. That keeps follow-up and delivery as the areas to watch if you place the order here.

Why buy from House of Scuba?

House of Scuba publishes a defined return process for eligible items, including when credit or a refund applies and where fees or exclusions can affect the outcome. If you want the retailer's own terms in place before ordering, that is the most concrete reason to buy here.

It also states a continental U.S. free-shipping offer with exclusions, so the order terms are not left entirely to guesswork. That does not guarantee every item qualifies, but the policy itself is part of the buying case.

Worth knowing

Some customers describe friction around returns or refunds, and some also report slower replies or needing extra follow-up when they asked for help after ordering. Read the return terms closely before placing the order, especially the condition, packaging, and fee limits that can change the result.

Quick Facts About TUSA Freedom Elite Scuba Diving Mask

  • A single tempered-glass lens mask built around TUSA’s Freedom Technology for fit and comfort.
  • The dimpled skirt, double feathered edge, and rounded cross-section work together to seal without leaving pressure marks on your face.
  • Low volume means less air needed to clear the mask, a real advantage for newer divers still building that skill.
  • The 3-D silicone strap follows the natural curve of your head, noticeably more comfortable than a standard flat strap.
  • A 180-degree rotating buckle with five strap-angle positions lets you dial in the fit precisely, even with gloved hands.
  • The nose pocket is sized and positioned for easy one-hand access while equalizing, gloves included.
  • Folds flat into a compact size and ships with a protective mask box for storage and travel.
  • A solid match for recreational divers who prioritize all-day comfort and a reliable seal.

TUSA Freedom Elite Mask: Single-Lens Dive Mask Built Around Fit

The TUSA Freedom Elite is a low-volume, single-lens scuba mask designed for recreational divers who have learned, often the hard way, that fit is everything in a mask.

If you have dealt with a leaking skirt, strap pressure on the back of your head, or that red ring around your face after a dive, this mask was designed specifically to address those problems.

What Makes the Fit Different

TUSA calls their approach Freedom Technology, and it is not just a name. It is a collection of specific design choices that work together on the seal and the strap.

The skirt uses a double feathered edge along the fitting line, which is the part that actually contacts your face. A feathered edge is thinner and more flexible than a standard blunt skirt edge, so it conforms to small contours around your nose and cheeks rather than sitting rigidly against them.

The skirt surface itself is dimpled, with varying silicone thickness and internal stability ridges. This lets different parts of the skirt flex at different rates, so the seal adjusts as your face moves rather than lifting away from it.

TUSA also shapes the skirt edge with a rounded cross-section rather than a flat one. In practice, this distributes the contact pressure more evenly, which is why you are less likely to see a deep impression on your face after a long dive.

The Strap

The strap is one of the more genuinely different things about the Freedom Elite.

Most mask straps are flat silicone bands. The Freedom Elite uses TUSA's 3-D silicone strap, which is shaped to follow the natural curve of the back of your head. A flat strap can bunch, twist, and create a single pressure point. A strap that matches your head's shape sits flatter and spreads that load across a wider area.

The buckle system gives you a five-position strap angle adjustment, so you can change the angle at which the strap meets the frame, not just the length. This matters if you have ever found a mask that sealed well but pulled awkwardly because the strap angle was slightly off for your head shape.

The buckle also rotates a full 180 degrees, which helps accommodate a wider range of head sizes and lets the mask fold flat for storage and travel.

The Lens and Volume

The Freedom Elite uses a single front-facing tempered glass lens. A single lens gives you an uninterrupted field of view with no center frame bar dividing your vision. Tempered glass is standard for dive masks because it is far more resistant to impact than regular glass, and if it does break, it shatters into small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards.

The mask is low volume, meaning there is a small air space between the lens and your eyes. Low volume has two practical advantages: the mask sits closer to your face, which improves your field of view, and if water does get in, you need less air to clear it out.

Nose Pocket and Glove Compatibility

The nose pocket is positioned and shaped so you can reach it with one hand, and TUSA specifically designed it to be usable while wearing thick gloves. If you dive in cold water and wear 5mm or 7mm gloves, you know how much dexterity you lose. A nose pocket that accounts for that is a practical detail, not a minor one.

What Comes in the Box

  • Freedom Elite mask
  • Protective mask box for storage and transport

The mask is available in multiple color options.

Who This Mask Is Not For

The Freedom Elite is a single-lens mask, so it cannot be fitted with prescription lenses the way some twin-lens masks can. If you need corrective lenses underwater, check whether TUSA offers optical lens inserts compatible with this model before committing.

It is also worth noting that no mask fits every face. The Freedom Technology skirt system is designed to handle a wider range of face shapes than a standard skirt, but fit is still personal. If you have the opportunity to try it on before buying, do.

The Short Version

The Freedom Elite is a thoughtfully engineered mask that takes fit more seriously than most. The skirt geometry, the 3-D strap, the adjustable buckle angle, and the glove-friendly nose pocket are all real design decisions aimed at the same goal: a mask that seals reliably, sits comfortably, and stays out of your way while you dive.

If your current mask leaks, leaves marks, or just never quite felt right, this one is worth a serious look.
