How You Actually Control It Underwater

Because the housing is a rigid sealed shell, your iPhone's touchscreen is completely inaccessible once you are in the water.

All camera control runs through the free ProShotCase app, which remaps your phone's physical volume buttons into camera controls. Volume minus cycles through shooting modes (photo, video, slow motion, wide-angle, selfie, timer, and others). Volume plus is the action button: take a photo, start or stop a video, or switch modes.

Before you dive, you download the app, set your preferred mode, close the case, and operate everything with two buttons. It is a simple system once you know it, but it is a real workflow change if you are used to tapping a screen.

The app also includes a Sleep mode to preserve battery between dives, which matters on a full day of diving when you are not filming constantly.

One practical note: the housing does not give access to the charging port or audio jack when closed. Plan your battery accordingly before a session.

Compatibility

ProShot describes this as a universal iPhone housing, compatible with all iPhone models up to and including the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. It also works with screen protectors already applied to your phone.

The app version current at publication is Version 8.4 (August 2025). Since camera control depends entirely on the app, keeping it updated matters.

The housing is compatible with GoPro mounts, which opens up a range of arm, tray, and handle mounting options if you want to attach it to existing dive gear or a rig.

Build and Depth Rating
