What Frameless Actually Means for You

The Skirt and Fit

The buckle closure lets you dial in the strap length and adjust on the surface or between dives without removing the mask.

Low Volume: Why It Matters

Low volume means there is less air space between your eyes and the lens. This matters in two practical ways.

• Clearing is easier. If water gets in, you press the top of the mask against your face, tilt your head back, and exhale through your nose. Less air space means less air needed to push the water out.
• Equalization is simpler for freedivers. As you descend, the water pressure tries to compress that air space against your face. A low-volume mask requires less air from your nose to equalize that pressure, which matters when you are working with a single breath.

For scuba divers, low volume is a convenience. For freedivers and spearfishers, it is a genuine practical advantage.

Who This Mask Is and Is Not For

The Z2 suits recreational scuba divers, freedivers, and spearfishers who want a lightweight, packable mask with a clean, wide view and straightforward fit adjustment.

It is listed as an adult size. If you are buying for a younger diver or a child, this is not the right fit.

It is not a technical diving mask with side windows or extreme low-profile geometry, and it does not accept prescription lenses. If either of those things matters to you, look elsewhere.

But for a recreational or freediving diver who wants something reliable, comfortable over a long dive, and easy to travel with, the Cressi Z2 covers the basics well and without unnecessary complication.
