The foot pocket is made from a thermo-rubber elastomer. That material is soft and grippy against your skin, which keeps the pocket from shifting or chafing during a long dive. Because the pocket wraps the foot closely, very little of your leg's push is wasted before it reaches the blade.

The blade itself is formed from a dual-density techno-polymer polypropylene. Dense enough to hold its shape under load, but engineered to flex progressively as you kick. A third material, silicone-based, runs through the blade and creates what Cressi calls a channeling effect: the blade guides water in a controlled direction on both the downstroke and the upstroke of your kick, so you are generating thrust through the full cycle rather than just pushing water on one half of it.

Blade geometry

The blade starts from the upper part of the foot pocket rather than the toe, which Cressi says gives it a 20% larger effective surface area compared to a traditional fin of the same overall length.

The blade also gets progressively thinner toward its edges. That graduated thickness encourages a more even bend along the whole blade rather than a sharp flex point near the foot pocket, which is where cheaper fins often buckle inefficiently.

The result is a fin described as longer, lighter, and more flexible than the Rondine that preceded it, designed to produce strong thrust with less muscle effort over a long dive.

Full-foot fit: what to know before you size

Full-foot fins fit like a shoe. There is no adjustable strap, so getting the size right matters more than it does with open-heel fins.

A pocket that is too loose lets your foot slide and kills efficiency. One that is too tight creates pressure points that become painful within minutes. The thermo-rubber here is soft and will conform somewhat, but it is not a substitute for the right size.

The Reaction Pro is available in multiple sizes for adults. If you are between sizes, lean toward the snugger option for barefoot wear, or the larger if you plan to wear thin dive socks.

Where these fins belong, and where they do not

The Reaction Pro suits warm-water diving and snorkeling well. Tropical reef dives, Mediterranean day trips, pool training, snorkeling from a boat: these are the conditions this fin was built for.

It is not the right tool for cold-water diving, where you need thick neoprene boots and the open-heel design that accommodates them. And because the blade is on the longer, more flexible end of the spectrum, it rewards a relaxed, flowing kick rather than a short, fast flutter. Divers who prefer a stiff, powerful blade for fighting currents may find it less satisfying than a stiffer option.

For snorkelers, the efficient two-stroke channeling and lighter build make surface swimming noticeably less tiring compared to basic injection-molded fins.
