Why buy from Amazon?

Amazon has a documented Prime delivery program that covers millions of items, and that is the most concrete order-related support behind buying here.

Worth knowing

Some customers report slower replies or needing more follow-up than expected when they asked for help after ordering. If an order needs post-purchase support, that part of the experience is not always smooth.

Some customers also report delivery problems after ordering. That keeps follow-up and delivery as the areas to watch if you place the order here.

Quick Facts About Cressi Moby 5 Wheeled Scuba Gear Bag

  • A 115-liter roller backpack built to carry a full set of scuba gear on travel days.
  • The removable wheels are a practical detail: if one breaks on a trip, you replace it rather than retire the bag.
  • Padded, adjustable shoulder straps stow in a hidden pocket so the bag converts to a backpack when wheels are no use on a dock or beach.
  • Two side pockets fit fins, the lower front pocket is sized for a regulator bag, and the top front pocket handles smaller accessories.
  • 300/400-denier nylon construction and YKK zippers keep the weight down to 10.7 lbs empty without sacrificing durability.
  • A telescopic handle, reinforced rubber grab handles on top and bottom, and internal support rods that hold the bag upright cover most ways you will need to move it.
  • A good match for recreational divers who travel regularly and want one bag that rolls through airports and carries to the water.

Cressi Moby 5 Bag with Wheels: Large-Capacity Roller Bag for Traveling Divers

The Cressi Moby 5 is a 115-liter wheeled backpack designed to carry a full set of scuba gear from your front door to the dive boat.

If you travel with your own equipment and want one bag that handles airports, docks, and beach transfers without forcing you to choose between wheels and shoulder straps, this is worth a close look.

Capacity and Layout

At 115 liters total, the Moby 5 is genuinely large. The main compartment alone measures 30 x 15.75 x 11.25 inches (76 x 40 x 28 cm), which is enough to swallow a BCD, wetsuit, mask, boots, and accessories in a single load.

The opening uses a U-shaped dual-zipper design, so the top folds back wide rather than giving you a narrow slot to wrestle gear through. That matters when you are packing a bulky BCD or trying to pull a wetsuit out without emptying the entire bag.

Beyond the main compartment, storage is divided into dedicated zones:

  • Two side pockets (28.75 x 9.85 x 2.75 inches each) sized for fins, keeping them separate from everything else.
  • Upper front bellows pocket (13.4 x 9.1 x 3.3 inches) for small items like a dive computer, mask, or documents.
  • Lower front bellows pocket (13.4 x 15 x 3.3 inches) sized specifically to hold a regulator bag, which keeps your regulator protected and away from the weight of the rest of your kit.

All pockets use dual-slider YKK zippers. YKK is a widely trusted zipper standard in travel and dive gear, and dual sliders mean you can open a pocket from either end.

Wheels, Handle, and the Replacement Question

The telescopic handle is reinforced, and the wheels roll on hard airport floors and smooth surfaces without issue. What sets the Moby 5 apart from most wheeled dive bags is that the wheels are removable and replaceable.

On a standard wheeled bag, a cracked or seized wheel means the bag is effectively broken. On the Moby 5, you can swap the wheels out rather than replacing the whole bag. For a diver who travels frequently, that is a meaningful difference in long-term reliability.

The back of the bag has supporting rods that hold it upright when standing, so it does not tip over in a crowded check-in queue.

Carrying Without the Wheels

Wheels are useful in terminals but impractical on sand, gravel, or a narrow boat dock. The Moby 5 addresses this with padded, adjustable shoulder straps stored in a hidden pocket on the back panel. Pull them out and the bag converts to a backpack.

There are also two grab handles: a rubber-gripped handle on top and a ridged handle on the bottom. The bottom handle matters when you need to pass the bag down to someone on a lower deck or lift it into an overhead locker.

Materials and Weight

The shell is 300/400-denier nylon. Denier is a measure of fabric thread density. Higher denier means heavier and more abrasion-resistant fabric. Cressi uses the lighter 300-denier where less stress is expected and the heavier 400-denier in areas that take more wear, keeping the bag durable without making it unnecessarily heavy.

Empty, the Moby 5 weighs 10.7 lbs (4.86 kg). That is worth noting before you pack. A full set of scuba gear is already heavy, and airlines typically cap checked bags at 50 lbs (around 23 kg). The bag itself uses up roughly a fifth of that allowance before you add a single piece of kit. If you are a light packer or traveling with rental gear, this may not be an issue. If you travel with a drysuit, twin tanks, or heavy camera equipment, weigh your packed bag before heading to the airport.

Who This Bag Is For

The Moby 5 is built for recreational divers who travel with their own gear and want a single, organized bag that works in airports and on the water.

The dedicated regulator pocket, fin side pockets, and large main compartment reflect a clear understanding of how divers actually pack. The convertible wheel-to-backpack system makes it more practical than a pure roller bag across different terrain.

If you only dive locally and drive to your sites, a bag this large may be more than you need. And if you already own a separate gear bag and are just looking for a travel duffel, the Moby 5 is designed to be your one complete solution rather than a companion piece.

It is available in multiple colors.
