The Neoprene Itself

The Hydroflex uses a super-stretch neoprene that Aqualung describes as non-petroleum-based and PAH-free. PAH stands for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, a class of chemicals that conventional neoprene manufacturing can introduce. The PAH-free formula is a genuine environmental consideration, not just a marketing label.

The material is Nylon-2 neoprene rubber at 3mm throughout. That stretch makes a real difference when you are getting the suit on and off, especially in a hot dive boat with limited space.

Fit and Comfort Details

The suit is cut specifically for a women's body shape, which matters more than many divers expect. A gender-specific pattern means the suit sits properly at the shoulders, chest, and hips rather than pulling or bunching.

What to Keep in Mind

At 3mm, this suit is not the right choice for cooler water. If your dives regularly go below around 24°C (75°F), or if you run cold, you will want a thicker suit.

The Hydroflex is also a full suit, not a shorty. If you dive exclusively in very warm, shallow water and prefer minimal coverage, that is worth considering. But for most tropical diving, the full-suit coverage protects against sun, stinging organisms, and coral contact, which a shorty cannot offer.
