Diving on the White Manta
The White Manta cruises Indonesian waters year-round. Forming one corner of the Coral Triangle—the epicenter of world marine biodiversity—and containing 20% of the world’s coral reefs, it will come as no surprise that this region boasts the most diverse waters in the world.
From cephalopods like the blue-ringed octopus and wunderpus, to the incredible oceanic mantas and whale sharks Indonesia is known for its abundance of marine life and its occasionally strong currents.
Itineraries on the White Manta range from muck diving in Lembeh Strait to watching pelagics and sea snakes pass by in the currents of Alor and Manuk. Diving is done from four rigid-hull inflatables, giving dive guides the flexibility to choose the best spot to enter the water.
Divers can expect personalized service and a guide-to-diver ratio of 1:4 each time they descend. Onboard, the spacious dive deck features individual stations and two toilets.
Short trips run from five nights, with 16-17 dives included, to long trips with 10 nights and 26-28 dives included. But it’s not all about diving onboard the White Manta—depending on the trip, you can explore scenic viewpoints, visit secluded beaches to watch baby turtles hatch, or learn more about the Spice Islands. The White Manta also offers some exploratory trips.
Full rental equipment is available onboard, including dive computers and torches, and nitrox is available for qualified divers at a surcharge. Note that certain itineraries require a certain level of dive experience and/or certification, so have a look before you book.

Onboard the White Manta
The White Manta is one of the largest and most stable dive vessels in the region, equipped with top-notch safety facilities and a cruising speed of 10 knots. The steel hull ensures this vessel is capable of long-haul cruises to reach the most secluded diving destinations.
The ship accommodates up to 24 guests across 14 luxurious, spacious cabins, averaging 215 square feet (20 m2). Each offers climate control and ample storage. Share the cabin with another diver or book a double bed stateroom; some cabins even offer transformable beds that can suit either twin share or double occupancy.
In the lounge, you’ll find a modern entertainment center, featuring a 52-inch plasma TV, DVD, and media server. With 24-hour satellite internet available, you can easily stay in touch with friends and family.
The White Manta’s deck areas offer a blend of relaxation and alfresco dining spaces. The partially-shaded sundeck is the perfect place to catch a tan, or for an extra cost even enjoy a relaxing massage by one of the two masseuses on board. Equipped with long chairs and comfortable double daybeds, there’s plenty of space for everyone.
Photographers will love features like the camera rinse tanks, shelf space, and wide outdoor work table on the dive deck. Inside, the dedicated camera room is the real gem, with ample charging areas and storage space, making White Manta a great choice for underwater photography enthusiasts.

Dining on the White Manta
Guests can dine in air-conditioned comfort in the indoor dining area or enjoy magnificent meals al fresco. The onboard Thai chef is regarded as one of the best in the region, satisfying your palate with an array of expertly prepared international, local, and chef-inspired dishes.
Start your day with freshly-baked bread, then indulge in five gourmet meals a day. Meals are served either buffet-style or plated.
If five meals aren’t enough to keep you full, more snacks, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are available all day long. The large refrigerator is fully stocked with chilled drinks, and special dietary requests can be accommodated with prior notice. Soft drinks are included and alcoholic beverages, such as wine and beer, are available at a surcharge.
