Diving on the Nai’a liveaboard
A liveaboard trip is, without doubt, the best way for divers to experience all that Fiji has to offer. Fiji boasts 300 islands and innumerable reefs, with a diversity of species that’s unrivaled outside the tropical Western Pacific.
Diving on the Nai’a liveaboard is done from both the dive deck and tenders. Wall dives and drift dives are typically done from tenders, while shallow reef dives are done from the back of the boat.
Underwater, you can expect dramatic walls and drop-offs, which are home to a variety of marine life including large pelagics. Popular sites include Rainbow Reef and North Save-a-Tack. The Somosomo Strait offers strong currents and exciting drift dives, while the Nigali Passage is a mile-long channel that, in the right conditions, fills with an unbelievable array of marine life.
Not to be outdone, reefs in Fiji are spectacular. With an incredible array of marine life and over 400 species of hard and soft coral, they are a mecca for underwater photographers.
Macro photographers, in particular, are in their element here, with many small and colorful creatures on the reefs as well as sharks, manta rays, barracuda, and turtles.
Onboard, the exceptional, friendly crew looks after your gear from beginning to end and safety is their priority. There are two guides in the water on most dives. Guests have the option to dive unguided after being assessed.
Some rental gear is available, if pre-booked, and the minimum level of diver is open water with 30 logged dives.

Onboard the Nai’a
Nai’a liveaboard offers nine comfortable, air-conditioned staterooms with private bathrooms, so divers can relax and recharge after a busy day of diving. The cabins are well-appointed and available in different configurations. All staterooms have 110v and 220v power outlets.
Hosting the dive briefings before each dive, the spectacular salon and dining area are located on the main deck. Both are comfortable, air-conditioned, and decorated stylishly with wood paneling. The dining area offers stunning views of the surrounding ocean. Entertainment includes a TV and DVD player, music CDs, a board game library and the crew, who often play guitar on the deck in the evenings.
Outside, you’ll find the sundeck, located on the top deck, with loungers and chairs for relaxing and soaking up the sun. There is also a shaded area on the sundeck to take a break in the hottest part of the day. The crew is happy to deliver drinks and snacks straight to your chair.
The dive deck is located at the back of the yacht. Spacious and well-equipped, it has two freshwater showers, individual gear bins, and two rinse tanks. Of particular note is direct access to the dedicated camera room, where guests can clean their gear and edit their underwater photos and videos after diving. The dive deck has plenty of bench space where guests can get ready.

Dining onboard the Nai’a
Three meals are served daily, all buffet-style, along with mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks. The chefs use fresh, seasonal ingredients to create a variety of delicious and nutritious meals, both local delicacies and western dishes. Vegetarian, vegan and special dietary requirements can be catered for with two weeks’ notice in advance of the trip.
Wine, beer, and other alcoholic beverages, other than one glass of wine at dinner, are not included in the price of a trip on the Nai’a liveaboard. Guests can purchase drinks from the bar.
