Diving on the Dewi Nusantara
Diving in Indonesia is always exceptional, but it’s extra special in some of the more remote destinations this liveaboard covers. Cenderawasih Bay and Triton Bay may still be among the best-kept secrets of Indonesian diving, and they certainly won’t disappoint.
All diving on the Dewi Nusantara is done from two custom-built tenders, following dive briefings with detailed hand-drawn dive maps. The tenders are spacious enough to offer each diver their own seat, complete with a semi-dry compartment below the seat.
The dive team consists of two multilingual cruise directors and four local divemasters with extensive experience in the areas you’ll be diving. There is also an option to hire a private guide, which needs to be booked at least three months before your trip.
This liveaboard has outstanding facilities for both serious and budding photographers. Starting with dedicated wash tanks, divers will love the camera room, which offers charging stations, bench space, and even dedicated towels to help you work on your camera before and after dives.
And, while some divers may enjoy the reassurance of having a private guide on the more challenging dives, photographers, on the other hand, benefit from the freedom to spend as much time on a subject as they’d like without needing to follow a group.
Every evening after dinner, the cruise directors will tell you more about the following day’s plans, complete with recommendations for macro or wide-angle setups.

Onboard the Dewi Nusantara
What’s it like to be on board this beautiful vessel? First of all, sailing on the Dewi Nusantara alone is already an experience. Crafted to exacting standards, this boat was designed for divers and their friends.
The liveaboard’s owners only settled on the boat’s specifications after spending 20 years exploring the Indonesian islands and logging hundreds of thousands of nautical miles sailing and diving. That insight and attention to detail show everywhere you look, starting from powerful engines and reaching all the way to the cabins.
The master and commander’s suite occupies 495 square feet (46 square meters), giving it enough room for a king-size bed and a bathtub. You also have your own corner sofa and table for relaxing, editing images or videos, or even doing a spot of work. This exceptional cabin is located on the aft deck and offers 180-degree views that you’ll never forget.
Aside from the master suite, there are eight spacious, deluxe staterooms, each equipped with beds that can be used as twins or doubles. All have reading lights, power points, plenty of hanging storage, and a desk. They’re also decorated with intricate wooden carvings and splashes of color.
If you prefer to spend time outside your cabin, choose the spacious sundeck in front of the wheelhouse or the comfortable lounge. You’ll be spoiled for choice.

Dining on the Dewi Nusantara
A luxury liveaboard experience wouldn’t be the same without great cuisine. On the Dewi Nusantara, meals are served either in the outdoor dining area, allowing you to take in the beautiful scenery as you’re tucking into your dinner, or in the indoor dining area next to the comfortable lounge.
No matter whether you’re eating al fresco or indoors, the boat’s kitchen crew are experts at combining Western and Indonesian flavors. They pride themselves on serving fine cuisine, no matter how remote your diving location is. Meals are served buffet-style except for dinner, which is served as a set menu.
Dewi Nusantara caters to vegetarians and vegans, and the crew can accommodate other dietary requirements, especially if you notify them in advance. During the day you’re always welcome to help yourself to a selection of snacks and free soft drinks, water, coffee, and tea. The liveaboard also carries beer and a selection of fine wines to complement your dinner. All alcoholic beverages are available at a surcharge.
