Diving on the Arenui

The Arenui also covers lesser-known destinations like Alor and Maluku. Those itineraries may still count as diving off the beaten track, but they’re quickly becoming diver favorites. Diving them now means you can see many of these reefs before they become a little too busy. Alor is considered one of the best-kept secrets in diving, whereas Maluku is an excellent place to see some of the rarest creatures in one of the world’s deepest seas.
With 24 crew members to a maximum of 16 guests, the Arenui liveaboard has one of the best ratios of guests to crew in the area. This is reflected in its diving operation, where four eagle-eyed Indonesian divemasters and four Western cruise directors work hard to deliver the best possible experience for every diving guest.

Onboard the Arenui
No matter where you look on this 141-foot-long (43 m) vessel, you’ll see touches of Indonesian craftsmanship. We love the carved wooden trim throughout this boat—it’s a real standout feature that differentiates the Arenui from its competitors. The references to Indonesian culture and history continue throughout the cabins.
The Arenui has a total of eight elegantly decorated cabins. There are both master suites and deluxe cabins. No matter which one you choose, you’ll be traveling in style. Each cabin has either a king-sized bed or spacious twin beds with a sitting area, too. Guests will also find a mini-bar in their cabin and a safety deposit box.
What’s the difference between master suites and deluxe cabins? The views, for starters. Master suites have seven windows, allowing you to enjoy panoramic ocean views. The Arenui’s deluxe cabins feature either two large windows or three portholes. Inspired by Indonesia’s vastly different provinces, each cabin has been individually and lovingly decorated.
Continue living in luxury as you relax on the boat’s skydeck and take in the fantastic views around the Indonesian archipelago. If you need a little more pampering, the Arenui team has got you covered, too. Whether you choose a massage to relax after traveling or opt for a spa treatment in between dives, the team will ensure you’re getting the most out of your trip.
If you’d prefer to spend time seeing more of topside Indonesia, consider renting a kayak to get closer to the islands around you. And if you’re diving around the Komodo islands, don’t forget to get a glimpse of the Komodo dragons.
The liveaboard has hosted its share of professional photographers in the past, and anyone arriving with their camera will be delighted by the dedicated charging facilities in the lounge area and at the back of the restaurant.

Dining on the Arenui
Does diving in remote areas mean having to compromise on food? Not according to the international chefs on the Arenui. The team prides itself on offering simply mouth-watering meals as part of its five-star gourmet cuisine concept.
On board the Arenui, divers can enjoy a full breakfast followed by a buffet lunch. Dinner has the option of an à la carte menu or buffet that changes daily depending on the ingredients. Throughout the day, the culinary team does its best to keep you energized with tasty snacks. This liveaboard offers both international and outstanding Indonesian cuisine. Many guests find that after a trip on the Arenui, they’re hooked on Indonesian food for life.
Of course, the team can accommodate specific dietary requirements. This is easiest if you advise them ahead of your trip. All non-alcoholic beverages are included in the price of the trip; alcoholic drinks are available at an extra charge.
One of the hardest choices divers must make throughout the day is where to dine. The expansive main deck restaurant and lounge area are always inviting, but who wouldn’t love to eat dinner under the stars in the sky restaurant? It’s the perfect location for enjoying magnificent scenery and sunsets while tucking into your dinner.
