Diving on the Adventure
The dive scene in Baja California has something for everyone, from shark diving to macro life, drift dives, sea lions, and whale sightings. Depending on the time of year, your interests, and your level of comfort, Adventure offers two itineraries.
Closer to land, between August and November, Adventure sails around the Sea Cortez. This itinerary starts and ends in La Paz, and visits all the best dive sites along the Baja California coast. This 5-day or 9-day itinerary is all about sea lions, critters, reefs, mobula rays, and wrecks. You can expect to log three dives per day.
Out into the open sea, between November and May, Adventure visits the Revillagigedo Islands, which includes the world-famous Socorro Island. Departing from Cabo, this 9-day itinerary is for advanced divers who seek adventure by diving in strong currents and swimming with pelagics like manta rays, whale sharks, and schooling hammerhead sharks and tiger sharks. Sightings of humpback whales are also common. On this itinerary, you can log up to 19 dives in total.
Either way, most dives are done via tender, and there’s nitrox onboard for a surcharge. Rental gear is available onboard, but for safety reasons, it’s highly recommended you have your own dive computer and SMB. Because of the somewhat challenging dive conditions, you must be at least an Open Water diver with 30 logged dives.
For non-divers, Adventure also offers snorkeling, hiking, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding.

Onboard the Adventure
Strong and fast, the Adventure liveaboard was first built in 1977 and renovated in 2011 to accommodate 19 people in 10 cabins.
All cabins are on the lower deck. There are two outer cabins with sea-view windows. Each cabin sleeps two people in bunk-style beds. There are also two indoor double cabins with no windows. These sleep two people in bunk-style beds. Two more indoor cabins feature bunk beds and an occupancy of four people per cabin.
All cabins have AC, a sink with hot water, a vanity mirror, individual reading lights, and electrical outlets for charging. There are no ensuite bathrooms. There are, however, seven shared bathrooms, separate for men and women.
On the main deck, there is an air-conditioned salon and dining room. This serves as the main social hub on Adventure, with an audio and entertainment system. Outside, relax on the partially shaded sundeck, dotted with chairs and lounges. More sun lounges can be found at the front of the boat, with a sweeping view over Baja California.
Adventure’s dive deck takes up most of the space on the main deck. There are benches to get ready for the dive and store your gear, as well as fresh water and air to clean your equipment. Photographers will appreciate the separate rinse tank for cameras. Access the water and tenders via one big staircase that leads onto a spacious, water-level platform.

Dining onboard the Adventure
The plate service onboard Adventure features local food with vegan options available. For allergies and other dietary requirements, please notify the crew upon booking.
Snacks are available all day, as well as soft drinks and hot beverages. At dinner, you can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine. Beer, cocktails, and other spirits are available at extra cost.
