The Uno seals the whole face at once, so there is no mouthpiece to bite down on. Whether that promise holds comes down to the fit around the chin and cheeks, which is what we sized for before every test swim.

From the side you can see how much frame the Aria Uno carries. That bulk is what holds the seal against the face, and it is also why the head strap needs a proper tug before you get in the water.

From the side you can judge how high the snorkel sits above the waterline. That height is the whole reason a face-down swimmer stays dry when a small wave rolls past.

The split strap spreads pressure across the back of the skull instead of digging in as one thin band. It is also the part most likely to grab long hair when you pull the mask off in a hurry.

Flat on the stones you can see the inner mask that separates the air you breathe from the air behind the lens. That divider is the entire anti-fog strategy on this design.

The snorkel comes off for packing, which decides whether the mask fits in hand luggage or eats half a dive bag. Reassembly is a single push, no tools involved.

Ocean Reef is an Italian outfit with a long history in full face masks, not a newcomer stamping its name on a generic mould. That pedigree shows in the small parts more than the marketing.

Where to buy

Another Ocean Reef Aria model, the Ocean Reef Aria Uno full face snorkel mask gives a great 180 view with ultimate comfort.

The shape and build of the Ocean Reef Aria Uno mask prevents moisture entering the mask as well as preventing any fogginess. The mask is made to be lightweight and durable with high quality materials.

The use of a soft silicone skirt also means the mask fits well to the face. Ocean Reef also offers a variety of sizes to ensure the mask fits your face snug and is not too tight or too large, which could either cause discomfort or allow water to enter.

This mask size is a little big, if you are inbetween sizes we advise you go down a size rather than up one.

Things we like:

  • Light weight
  • Comfortable
  • Anti-fog

Things we don't like:

  • Sizes run too big

Durable yet lightweight, the Ocean Reef Uno is comfortable thanks to the materials used in its construction.

With comfort at the center of the design, this full face mask fits well to most face shapes, with the exception that the sizes can run quite large.

We would recommend buying a size down if you are in between sizes.

The rubber straps are soft yet provide a good fit preventing the mask from moving whilst in the water. The Dry Top along with the silicone skirt of the mask also ensures no water enters the mask.

Ocean Reef products have designed their own orinasal passage that connects the front of your face with the snorkel for optimal sealing around your nose. They test all their products in water for safety and comfort.

The Ocean Reef Uno has excellent airflow, breathing with the mask is easy and the unique Ocean Reef technology ensures no fog.

Price/Quality Ratio

The snorkel comes off for packing, which decides whether the mask fits in hand luggage or eats half a dive bag. Reassembly is a single push, no tools involved.

The Ocean Reef Uno is well worth the price considering the high quality of this mask. All Ocean Reef masks offer good value given the experience they provide.

Compared to other masks of similar quality, the Uno offers very little to regret if used more than once. For reference, a good snorkel and mask will cost about the same.

Like other Ocean Reef full face snorkeling masks, the Uno is specially designed to be comfortable and give you the best fit possible when snorkeling. For this reason, we feel the price is more than justified.
