Miss Moon liveaboard anchored beneath a fiery red sunset sky
The boat's motto, we go where no one goes, painted right on the hull, hints at why divers pick it for out of the way sites.
The Miss Moon liveaboard's dark blue hull and rigged foredeck, its motto painted across the top
Miss Moon's banner reads We Go Where No One Goes, a nod to the more remote sites this Thailand liveaboard targets.
Miss Moon liveaboard boat passing towering limestone cliffs at sea
Sailing this close to sheer rock walls says as much about where Miss Moon dives as any itinerary could.
Covered dining and lounge deck aboard the Miss Moon with wooden tables and floor cushions
Floor cushions next to regular tables let divers eat cross legged or seated, whichever suits after a long dive day.
Bunk cabin aboard the Miss Moon with neck pillows, a fan and a portable air conditioner
A portable air conditioner tucked beside the bunk is a small fix worth noting on boats where fixed AC can be temperamental.
Dive buddies in full scuba gear lined up on the boat's dive deck before jumping in
The Miss Moon's dive deck comfortably fits a full group suiting up together, no scramble for space before the giant stride entry.
Guests smiling close together over a meal of mashed potato and broccoli on board
Boat meals turn into reunions fast, a full plate of vegetables and a glass of red wine passed around a packed table.
Turquoise lagoon ringed by jagged limestone cliffs, seen from above
This lagoon shows the Miss Moon's itinerary has more to offer than tanks and dive sites.
Solitary limestone islet rising from calm open sea under a clear sky
Not every good view on this trip is underwater, this solitary limestone stack proves the surface scenery holds up too.
Person standing atop a tall limestone sea stack with a small boat anchored nearby
Thailand's limestone sea stacks tower well above the waterline, tall enough that someone climbed to the top for the view.
Forested limestone headland framing a quiet turquoise bay and sandy beach
A quiet cove like this breaks up the dive schedule, sand and jungle with barely another boat in sight.
Cabin bed on the Miss Moon decorated with towel swans and an ensuite bathroom just beyond
Housekeeping folds the towels into swans for every turnover, a small touch that says the crew cares about presentation as much as comfort.
Four-panel view of the master cabin bed, TV and air conditioning unit on the Miss Moon
A wall-mounted TV and air conditioning set this master cabin apart from the standard bunks elsewhere on board.
Single bunk bed with a rolled towel decoration and curtained window on the Miss Moon
Bunks like this keep the standard cabins snug rather than spacious, curtained windows and a personal fan for airflow.
Three-panel view of stacked bunk beds with rolled towel decorations on the Miss Moon
Stacked bunks like these are the budget-friendly option on board, tight on space but each one dressed up with the same towel folding touch.
Bunk bed area fitted with a portable air conditioning unit and wall fan
A portable air conditioning unit next to the bunks is a small detail that matters a lot on a tropical liveaboard.
Wheelhouse helm station with the ship's wheel, radio and navigation instruments
The wheelhouse runs on a mix of old and new, a traditional wooden wheel next to modern navigation screens and radar.

Hailing from Myanmar, the 18m/59 feet long Miss Moon liveaboard has everything you could want in a liveaboard dive safari. Miss Moon was built in 2008 specifically for divers and carries only ten guests at a time to dive sights in Thailand and Burma. Have a non-diver with you? Miss Moon provides snorkeling and kayaking so everyone in your group can have a fun experience.

About this overview

To help you decide whether this liveaboard fits your dive style, budget, and comfort needs, we’ve researched the boat, itinerary, onboard experience, diving setup, and overall value.
We review liveaboards based on the details that matter most during a multi-day dive trip, including cabins, food, crew support, dive operations, safety, route quality, and how the boat compares with similar options in the destination.

Things we like:

  • Many people were happy with the island excursions that involved wild animals and volcanic activity.
  • Many people were happy with Previn and the Miss Moon crew on showing them a great time.
  • Some people noted the Chef and Captain helped them find their forgotten items 2 days after they alighted.
  • Several divers commended the diving master on planning a well executed diving itinerary and snorkeling spots.
  • Divers said they loved the fact that they were the only divers on most of the locations and they got to see mantas, mating squad, and broadclub cuttelfish.
  • The food prepared by the chef was delicious and the dishes were a mixture of western and Myanmar cuisine.

Things we don't like:

  • A few people claimed that the boat was rather small and cramped.

Diving on Miss Moon liveaboard in Thailand

Built in 2008, Miss Moon is the ideal place to spend a lovely dive vacation while exploring the underwater world of Thailand & Myanmar. The ship is a fun low-cost liveaboarding choice.

Miss moon is an extraordinary ship that has been on the sea for more than 15 years now containing 5 comfortable cabins for a maximum of 10 guests. This limited number of divers allows you to have the best quality service and the most memorable experience without the crowdie atmosphere of it all. All cabins are air-conditioned, have sea view and inside flat screen TV. We provide a camera table for all the photography lovers out there, an inside saloon where you can relax and watch some TV and a sun deck for a stress relieving tanning session.

One of our proudest areas is food; we selected high-grade chefs that excel in all ranges of cuisine to be your cooks on Miss Moon. Aboard, you’ll be served either mouth-watering Thai food or Western food as you wish in the outdoor dining area. Any diets or food preferences will be catered if you inform us beforehand. All meals are served buffet style and of course wine, beer and snacks will be available all around the clock. The joyful company, the delicious food, and the amazing views will make your days on our ship forever memorable.

Miss Moon Liveaboard yacht has a spacious air-conditioned indoor lounge with a sound and visual entertainment framework. Visitors can lay on the padded seats on the shaded sun deck, or tan on the extraordinary garden sun deck! Miss Moon welcomes all guests on this trip: divers, snorkelers, families, and kids. We recommend enjoying the onboard Kayak for additional fun.

Diving will be accompanied by our dive master plus 5 professional divers. The Miss Moon Dive deck is well equipped with diving gear and the team will guide you through all the steps. There is also gear for rental if you haven’t brought your own. The vessel will be set sailing the Andaman Sea visiting on the way the Similan Island, Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon, and Koh Tachai; all of which are dream islands with captivating scenery, white sandy beaches, and breathtaking cultures. Most importantly, they’re considered to be perfect diving areas. Amidst the trip, it’s very likely to encounter all kinds of marine life; giant whale sharks, spotted stingrays, dolphins, seahorses, etc. The marine corals are equally astonishing and diverse. Explorers will find plenty of objects to discover.

Since security is our top priority, we made sure to provide all necessities to ensure the welfare of everyone on the boat; life jackets, emergency rafts, first aid kits, emergency flares, first aid trained crew, etc.
Our friendly crew is multilingual as well; they’re fluent in English, Thai, French, and Danish.
