In practice, the feature set is genuinely deep. If you are diving open-circuit trimix, running a rebreather, or managing multiple gas switches on decompression dives, this computer handles all of it without requiring a workaround or a second unit.

If you are a newly certified recreational diver who just wants to track no-decompression limits on air, the Perdix 2 will do that too, but it is more computer than you need right now. It is worth considering if you already know your diving will push into technical territory soon.

Diving Modes

The Perdix 2 Ti runs the full range of modes you would expect from a serious technical computer:

• Air / Nitrox for recreational and sport diving on single-gas mixes.
• 3 Gas Nitrox (3 GasNx) for multi-gas nitrox diving, suited to the serious recreational diver managing travel or decompression gases.
• OC Technical Trimix enabled by default, covering open-circuit dives where you are breathing helium blends. No unlock or upgrade needed.
• CC/BO Closed Circuit and Bailout Trimix for rebreather divers, with constant PO2 tracking and optional air integration for diluent, oxygen, and bailout gases.
• Gauge mode turns the computer into a depth gauge and resettable stopwatch, useful when you want to run your own profile or use a separate decompression device.

Having trimix and rebreather modes enabled by default matters. You do not need to send the unit away or purchase a software unlock to dive technical. It is ready when you are.

Air Integration

The Perdix 2 Ti supports up to four Shearwater Swift transmitters, meaning you can monitor tank pressure for multiple cylinders directly on the computer display.

Air integration is available across all diving modes, not just recreational ones. For a technical diver managing multiple stages or a rebreather diver tracking bailout pressure, that is a meaningful distinction.

The transmitter runs on a standard 3V CR2 Lithium battery, which is user-replaceable.

Display and Visibility

The screen is a 2.2-inch color LCD with what Shearwater describes as a vivid, enhanced color range. The lens is aluminosilicate glass, the same material used in hardened smartphone screens, chosen for its resistance to impact and scratching compared to standard mineral glass.

The display layout is user-customizable. You can choose which data fields appear and arrange them to suit your priorities, whether that is decompression ceiling, gas time remaining, or compass heading.

Build Quality and Physical Design

The Ti designation refers to the titanium surround bezel, which gives the Perdix 2 Ti its corrosion resistance and durability without adding bulk. The casing is described as armoured, and the two control buttons are titanium piezo touch buttons, meaning there are no mechanical moving parts to corrode or fail.

Despite the robust construction, the Perdix 2 is notably compact. Shearwater states it is 30% smaller in volume than the Petrel 2, which makes it considerably easier to wear on the wrist rather than mount on a console.

It is depth-rated to 850 feet (260 metres), well beyond the range of recreational or standard technical diving.

Battery Life and Replaceability

The Perdix 2 Ti runs on a single AA battery, which you can replace yourself in the field. No proprietary charger, no waiting for a charge cycle.

Battery life reaches up to 100 hours using a Saft LS14500 lithium AA cell. For context, 100 hours covers a great deal of diving before you need to think about the battery again. Standard AA batteries will also work, though with reduced life compared to the Saft lithium cell.

Alerts and Safety Features

The Perdix 2 Ti uses a vibration alert system in addition to audible alarms. Vibration alerts are particularly useful underwater when ambient noise or a dry suit hood makes it harder to hear audio warnings clearly. The alerts are customizable, so you can set them to trigger at the moments that matter for your dive plan.

A digital compass is integrated, so you are not relying on a separate compass module or a wrist compass alongside the computer.

Connectivity and Dive Logging

The computer connects to PC, Mac, and Apple mobile devices via Bluetooth. Dive logs download through the Shearwater Cloud platform, which is available in 13 languages.

Onboard log capacity is substantial: over 1,000 hours of dive history. For a diver who logs frequently, that is years of records stored on the unit itself.

The Shearwater Cloud lets you review and share logs without needing a cable or proprietary adapter. The interface supports multiple languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

A Straightforward Honest Note

The Perdix 2 Ti is a serious piece of kit. The two-button interface and clean menu structure mean it is not complicated to operate, but the depth of the feature set means there is a learning curve if you are new to technical diving computers.

If your diving is entirely recreational and you have no plans to move into technical diving, there are simpler, less expensive computers that will serve you well. The Perdix 2 Ti earns its place when you genuinely need the technical modes, the multi-transmitter air integration, or the rebreather support.
