MV Oceania is one of the newest vessels to operate in the Papua New Guinea area and only started operating in April 2019. This liveaboard has a length of 88ft/27meters and a width of 29ft/9meters. The MV Oceania provides trips all year round and they choose diving destinations according to the weather patterns and time of the year. You will find this liveaboard offers Nitrox and rental equipment for budding divers. What’s more, the friendly and welcoming crew and staff will make you feel at home from the moment you step onboard the liveaboard.

Diving on the MV Oceania in Papua New Guinea 

MV Oceania liveaboard

This liveaboard will take you to various destinations that include Witu Island, Kimbe Bay, and Fathers Reefs. These destinations will offer you vibrant coral reefs, wrecks, pinnacles, walls and countless marine life that is unique to the Papua New Guinea region. One of the major marine species on offer are dolphins as well as turtles. This offers great photography moments and opportunities for you to swim alongside majestic marine life.

Interior and entertainment areas

The MV Oceania can take on 16 guests in eight stylish cabins. These cabins are designed to amplify storage space and give you more room to move in. All of the cabins have en-suite bathrooms and individual air-condition control for a pleasant experience during the hot summer days.

There is a salon area that also features the dining area where most meals will be served. You will find ample seating and comfortable sofas that create a relaxing atmosphere for interacting with fellow guests and staff. There is also an upper sun deck that you can use to sunbathe or just catch up on some reading. On the deck, you will find soft sofas that guests use to explore the night sky on clear evenings.

Dive deck on the liveaboard

The MV Oceania has a large dive deck that offers divers ample space to move and put on their equipment. There are two dive tenders located at the side of the dive deck to easily transport divers to remote dive locations where the liveaboard can’t reach. Moreover, you will find a camera station in the middle of the dive deck for added convenience for u/w photographers. There are also charging cupboards that will ensure all your equipment is always fully charged. Many divers feel this is a great dive and commended the diving staff on their helpfulness and knowledge.

Food on the liveaboard

The MV Oceania only serves the freshest and delicious meals. You can expect three meals a day that is a mix of Asian and Western cuisines. This will consist of protein like fish, meat and chicken, seafood, beef, salads, and vegetables with big portions for everyone served. The chef also caters to special dietary requirements but you should give advance notice of the specification.

Itinerary on the MV Oceania

With this liveaboard, you can only expect to see the best diving destinations that Papua New Guinea has to offer. You will be taken to places like Fathers Reefs, Walindi Plantation Resort, Kimbe Bay, Witu Island, and the Bismarck Sea. A diving itinerary will last 7-10 nights. The captain plans and professionally execute itineraries and you will be notified as soon as any changes to the schedule are made.
