There’s just something je-ne-sais-quoi about yoga mats that not only look like a million bucks but also feel like it. Ticking most of the boxes – lightweight, portable, eco-friendly, and grippy – Yogo Travel yoga mat gives you the all-inclusive experience that you are guaranteed to enjoy regardless of whether you’re a beginner or an expert yogi.

The only apparent downside we can imagine is the lack of cushiony padding. It’s sustainable material–in a travel-friendly lightness–makes this mat more for the down-to-earth yogi with tough knees.

You can fold the mat with the origami method and turn it into a relatively small bag that can fit everywhere. This means there are no limitations as to where you can practice your favorite Ashtanga poses or pilates. Convenience, it is.

What’s more, the rubbery material is quite easy to clean and maintain. A simple rinse is sufficient to ensure your mat stays squeaky clean and tear-free for months to come. Isn’t that what you are looking for in a yoga mat anyway?

Quality

Crafted from natural tree rubber that is topped with a layer of mesh cotton, Yogo Travel is a one-of-a-kind yoga mat that stands the test of time. (This also makes it eco-friendly!) We can attest to that having tried it out ourselves.

We aren’t going to sugarcoat it either – it doesn’t have a lot of cushioning that gives it that plushy feel some might expect from a yoga mat. And while this can be a dealbreaker for those with sensitive joints and a different set of standards for yoga equipment, yogis who can appreciate a springy piece of fabric that allows them to do both regular and hot yoga without needing a towel will be onboard with Yogo’s travel mat.

Yogo Travel Yoga Mat Quality

Comfort

When a yoga mat lacks cushioning, you can’t necessarily call it ‘comfortable’ straight away. But if you look closer – i.e. give it a fair chance by testing it out – you will come to realize that this downside can be leveraged. Not only do you feel more grounded and stable when practicing demanding yoga poses but you’re also more likely to make progress faster.

If you’re determined to make it work even though you’re skeptical about thin yoga mats, we’d recommend you to use it on a carpet at first. This way you’ll get more initial knee and elbow protection, advance your grip and be able to transition into practicing yoga on the mat alone much quicker.

Yogo Travel Yoga Mat Comfort

Performance

On the topic of grip – this is where you won’t spend much time ‘getting to know’ the mat. The texturized construction of the mat guarantees no slipping that can often occur when practicing yoga on thicker mats with a smooth surface.

As if this wasn’t enough to get you hooked, Yogo made it possible for you to do hot yoga on it too. This means that no matter how much you sweat – and you’ll sweat a lot during some challenging Bikram flows – the mat will support you well enough to not let you go off the mat.

Yogo Travel Yoga Mat Performance

Price/Quality

You do pay a premium for this yoga mat, but what you get in return is equally premium quality. Equipped with handy straps for keeping the mat closed and for hanging it to dry after a wash, it’s a sturdy piece of yoga equipment that is designed for use in a variety of weather conditions (under which it still won’t budge).

Be it the mat’s on-the-go construction or the rigidness of its naturally-sourced materials, you can expect it to pay off rather soon.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about YOGO Ultralight Travel Yoga Mat

  • image/svg+xmlimage/svg+xml
What is the best travel yoga mat?

We may be biased, but out of all yoga mats we’ve reviewed so far, the Yogo Travel is the best lightweight option. You can fold it into a small rectangle and easily fit it in your suitcase, carry-on, or backpack. The best part – you won’t feel much of its weight at all.

  • image/svg+xmlimage/svg+xml
Can I bring my yoga mat on the plane?

As long as your yoga mat fits in the overhead compartment – whether it is attached to your backpack or packed in it – you are allowed to bring it with you on your adventures. Yogo Travel yoga mat meets this criterion perfectly well, by the way.

  • image/svg+xmlimage/svg+xml
Is a 6mm yoga mat good?

It’s true – the thicker your yoga mat is, the more comfortable you’ll feel doing yoga on it. But this doesn’t necessarily mean that those on the thinner side should be automatically excluded placed in the ‘no, thank you’ pile.

Even though Yogo Travel mat has only 1.5mm of thickness, it still feels supportive. If anything, you get more stability with it as there isn’t a thick layer separating you and the ground. (Challenge-seekers will love it too)

  • image/svg+xmlimage/svg+xml
What is Yogo Travel yoga mat made from?

Just like its fellow sustainably-made brothers and sisters like the Yoga Design Lab combo mat and Liforme Original yoga mat, Yogo Travel yoga mat is built from all-natural materials. We’re talking about natural tree rubber harvested from non-Amazonian plantations and a hint of cotton and recyclable plastic.

  • image/svg+xmlimage/svg+xml
How do I care for Yogo Travel yoga mat?

To have your Yogo mat serve you a long time, you have to take good care of it. This means rinsing it with water and hanging it to dry every few practices.

If you happen to use it on a daily basis, consider washing it more often (but don’t overdo it).
