When we first got Hugger Mugger Para Rubber in the mail, we were taken aback by how hefty it is. This isn’t the typical travel-friendly yoga mat that you can throw in a suitcase or attach to a backpack and go on adventures with.

That being said, if you practice yoga at home or in the yoga studio only, portability shouldn’t be a concern for you. Offering you the same – if not better – the level of support as a portable yoga mat, it has what it takes to become your go-to fitness companion. Thick construction is there, tear-resistant rubber is there too, and so are the eye-catching patterns.

It can very much last you a lifetime with proper care.

Quality

Don’t be alarmed by the initial rubbery smell of the mat – it will go away after the first wash. This is something you’ll have to overlook as this is the nature of the Para Rubber yoga mat. On a brighter note, this is how you know it’s made from natural ingredients that don’t include any harmful toxins.

Some might think that rubber can easily rip with applied pressure, but this isn’t the case with this Hugger Mugger’s mat. It’s as durable as a yoga mat can get, which means that you can do your favorite yoga poses and not worry about damaging it.

P.S. Do not wash it in the washing machine – it’s a hand wash yoga mat only.

Comfort

As you would expect from a 6mm yoga mat, sensitive joints aren’t an obstacle to a comfortable yoga session. This rings particularly true with Para Rubber mat. No matter how careful you usually have to be when doing a pigeon or a scorpion pose, you can rest assured that neither your elbows nor your knees will suffer in the process.

Apart from the cushioning, the dimensions of the mat are every height-inclusive too. Even if you’re almost 6 feet tall, you can still get the most out of the Hugger Mugger Para Rubber yoga mat and not feel restricted by its length whatsoever.

Performance

Given the generous cushioning and on-point gripping, this mat is nothing short of extraordinary when it comes to performance. There’s quite literally nothing you cannot do with this mat and this is its strongest suit.

What’s more, you don’t even need a towel for hot yoga – that’s how sticky both sides of the mat are. Sweat as much as you wish and you’re still not likely to slip at any point throughout the practice. As you can tell, this mat can get addictive.

Price/Quality

You get good value for your money with this Hugger Mugger’s Para Rubber mat. It’s sturdy, easy to use, and allegedly fairly long-lasting. We’d go as far as to speculate that it’s because of its durability that the company didn’t specify the warranty for the mat – it’s made to last.

But this doesn’t take away from the mat’s steep price tag. It’s intimidating and can throw many yogis off from purchasing it if the benefits aren’t prominent. And we get it – this is an investment not everyone is willing to make. But once you have, you won’t be disappointed if it’s your stay-at-home mat.

Some happy customers call it ‘the zen you need’, others say ‘it’s worth the rubber aroma’. We cannot help but agree with them all. The mat is of high quality – which is fully reflected in the price – and it shows.

The odds of slipping are low and the odds of enjoying your yoga session are high. Add the eco-friendliness characteristic, and you’ve got a worthy yoga mat that is bound to transform your fitness and/or spiritual journey for the better.
