Best Flared Yoga Pant

We’ve had the pleasure of covering the ultra-flattering Halara Cloudful Crossover Leggings already, but Halara managed to wow us in several categories this year. The Halara Crossover, High Waisted Super Flare Legging really won us over.

The same attention to detail we saw with the Cloudful leggings is evident in the flare leggings. The crossover waist creates a beautiful cinching effect, and the tapered back seams give a lifted appearance to the glutes. The flared pant legs can lend a fun, vintage, lengthening look to these flattering and functional yoga pants.

The Halara Flared Leggings provide full coverage for cellulite and pass the squat test. While the fabric is not quite as soft as the Cloudful leggings, the material seems to be a bit higher performing. The fabric has a cool, breathable feel to it with a smooth finish. Much like the Cloudful leggings, these yoga pants check just about every box for under $30 – but with their own flare.

They’ve Got Their Own Flare

halara-crossover-high-waisted-flare

Our first thoughts upon unboxing were that these feel quite different from the uber-soft Cloudfuls that Halara is known for. These have more of a performance feel to them, with a smooth, cool hand, which is usually a good indication that will be more immune to pilling.

While we are missing the seamless front panel featured on the Cloudfuls, we still think these are a home run in terms of fit and style. The crossover waistband helps to give the waist a cinched appearance, while the tapered back seams help to give the glutes a lifted appearance. These are functional for workouts, but they also make for perfect, comfortable streetwear.

The quality of these yoga pants is surprising for how affordable they are. Ringing in at just $30, they don’t break the bank, but nothing feels cheap or thoughtless about them. They are incredibly flattering, and at that price, we’re tempted to get a few more colors.

Features

The Halara Flare leggings have some really great features. The yoga pants feature a decent-sized hidden back pocket in the waistband, big enough for a couple of cards, or maybe a small smartphone. They also feature a nice 4-way stretch, along with a full coverage material to keep you comfortable at the gym.

We have already mentioned the flattering tapered back seams, crossover waistband, and the lengthening flared pant legs, as they are some of our favorite features. The Halara flares were designed to be as trendy as they are functional.

Related Reviews

These are the first flare leggings we’ve tried, so we have to admit, at first, the breeze was a little strange. They’ve really grown on us since and are some of the more comfortable yoga pants we’ve had the chance to try.

While the fabric isn’t as buttery soft as the Yogalicious Nude Techs or the Halara Cloudfuls, they are still extremely comfortable and soft in a cooler, airy way. We would compare the fabric feeling to the Manduka Evolves or The Gym People Yoga Pants.

One of our main issues with these yoga pants is that they don’t have a great selection of inseams. I am 5’5” and they fit me comfortably, but it’s quite problematic for women who find themselves on the taller or shorter side – the flattering effects of a flare go out the window when they land at your calf or in a puddle on the floor.

Performance

halara-crossover-high-waisted-performance

We were pleasantly surprised with the performance of these leggings. We were expecting these leggings to have the same issue as their Cloudful sister of a sagging, falling waistband, but somehow it doesn’t seem to be an issue. These are fully functional in the gym, the yoga studio, or the grocery store, but we probably wouldn’t recommend these for activities like running, biking, or rock climbing where the extra fabric can get in your way.

There are no signs of pilling as of yet, and as we mentioned, the smooth finish and high polyester content keep us cautiously optimistic about the longevity of these yoga pants. While we don’t recommend these for running, you could certainly dance the night away and not have to worry about doing damage by breaking a sweat.

The 4-way stretch, along with full cellulite and squat-test coverage, make these a great option for yogis. We’re confident they can keep up with even the most rigorous yoga practice.

Quality

The quality of the Halara Flare Leggings is pretty amazing, especially when you consider the price. The quality and cool breathability of the material are evident upon sliding these yoga pants on, and unlike some of our other leggings, these are completely full coverage, so you can fear no squat.

The attention to detail on the garment construction is, again, surprising for the $30 price point. The crossover waistband, the seamless look, the ultra-flattering flare, and tapered back seams all come together for a beautiful garment with not a frayed seam in sight. These are one of the best-value yoga pants on our list.

Price/Quality

The price to quality ratio on the Halra Flare Leggings is one of the best on our list. With these leggings, you’re getting flattering, comfortable, and high-performing yoga pants for just $30.  These leggings can hang with the best of them and are truly comparable to luxury brands like Lululemon Aligns ($105), or the Manduka Evolves ($80).

Do We Recommend Them

We can’t speak to anyone’s personal taste, and we know the flare look isn’t for everyone, but in terms of quality, comfort, performance, and price, we absolutely recommend them.

They exceeded almost all expectations, with the exception of the pesky front panel seam and the limited inseam options. We highly recommend the flares to anyone who is looking for something great and a little different.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are flared leggings still trendy?

Flared leggings are going strong. They are one of Halara’s top sellers, and you can find a flare option from almost every brand at this point. The 70’s are back, but with a stretchy, comfortable twist.

Do flared leggings make you look skinny?

Flared leggings are said to draw the eyes down, which in theory helps to elongate the legs. Flares will definitely have a lengthening, slimming effect, especially if you are choosing the right inseam and kind of flare.

What shoes look good with flare leggings?

Most women are rocking flare yoga pants with sneakers or tennis shoes, but you can certainly have some fun with it. Vintage “go-go” boots would elevate the look for a night out, or athletic shoes could keep things casual. Have fun with it – they’re flares, afterall.

Can you workout in flare yoga pants?

You can definitely workout in flare yoga pants, but we recommend keeping them in the gym and the studio. Yoga, pilates, and dance are all great options. We wouldn’t recommend running, biking, or more extreme sports like rock climbing in these, as the extra fabric could get in your way and become a hazard.
