Overview

Aleader Xdrain Water Shoes are among the best-selling water shoes in the market today, mainly because they are so affordable. They are mostly made of fabric, which gives them an ultra lightweight profile. With breathable mesh uppers, they are comfortable to wear and easy on the feet.

Lightweight and quick-drying though they are, this also means they lack some support if that’s what you’re looking for.

Their ComforDry sockliners have antimicrobial properties, keeping your feet relatively free from sour foot syndrome that neoprene water shoes like the NRS Kickers.

These water shoes have soles engineered with unique drainage holes, which provide an effective drainage system. You can expect them to dry quickly in the sun. If you still have some walking to do, you won’t have to walk with an uncomfortable, soggy feeling on your feet. These soles have anti-slip properties that provide decent grip when you are navigating tricky, wet surfaces.

They’re not as stable or grippy as the Merrell Blaze with Vibram sole, but neither are the Xdrain Cruz costing upwards of $70-$100.

Primarily, Aleader’s water shoes are recommended for water-based activities like kayaking and river crossing, though they’ll not provide any significant warmth for the former.

While they can be used for light or walks on easy terrains, they are not ideal for extensive, difficult hikes due mainly to the aforementioned lack of support.

We stress tested them, climbing up trees and running. They held up and were quite fun.

As we dive in, we will discuss these shoes’ features in-depth to give you an idea about how they can be beneficial to you and how you can best use them.

Material

Aleader Xdrain Cruz 1.0 are 90% polyester and engineered with Solyte, two important features that give them a lightweight profile. Their mesh uppers provide breathability, so you can wear them all day long and your feet still feel cool. Meanwhile, the ComforDry sockliners offer soft cushioning and anti-microbial function, adding to your comfort.

However, the laces on these water shoes are only decorative. When you get these shoes, make sure that they fit snugly enough because you won’t be able to loosen or tighten them at all.

Value

If you are looking for budget-friendly yet quality water shoes, the Xdrain Cruz 1.0 Water Shoes by Aleader are good enough to satisfy the basic needs of comfort, durability, and protection.

Mainly, they are designed for use on water, especially for activities like kayaking and river crossing. They have unique drainage holes that allow them to dry quickly once you get out of the water. The only problem with these holes is that rocks can easily get stuck in them and you’ll need to pick them out.

Ideally, these water shoes are not suitable for use on land, especially challenging terrains with plenty of obstacles. Nonetheless, they provide sufficient protection with their soles. Their ComforDry sockliner also has soft cushioning, offering some shock absorption.

Because of the soft sole, prolonged walking will wear it down. But it’ll provide a good couple season’s worth of weekend use. They’ve been good for sailing, playing frisbee in the water and as boat shoes, walking the dock and even to the store and back.

For the price, you can’t really go wrong.
