What’s Special About this Resort
This resort caters to couples in a way that many don’t. Being adults-only, in conjunction with the secluded location, makes for a really intimate and relaxed resort experience. Hotel Wailea is the perfect choice for couples looking for romantic, cinematic, and/or intimate experiences in the otherworldly beauty of this luxury resort on the island of Maui.
The Wailea Resort is not all-inclusive, but there is a Bed & Breakfast package along with other resort packages. The resort is currently running an offer for foodies where you can get anywhere from $200-$500 in food and beverage credits with the purchase of your stay.
What To Do
There is no shortage of options when it comes to staying busy at Hotel Wailea. They offer sunset sailing, which features an on-board premium bar for an unforgettable romantic outing. If boats aren’t your thing, the resort also rents out a vintage Porsche for island cruising with your sweetheart. The cherry on top of this romantic getaway is the private dining “treehouse,” where you’re given a beautiful 7-course meal with optional wine pairings, in a secluded, tree-covered gazebo. With these magical experiences, you can fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the island and fall in love all over again.
Every luxury resort has a spa, but with the Hotel Wailea, the spa can come to you. The resort offers in-suite couples massages. You can enjoy a drink by the pool while they ready your room for a private, comfortable spa experience.
While the Hotel Wailea is a perfect place to be blissfully in love, it still provides a good helping of thrill and adventure. The resort facilitates kiteboarding lessons, aerial yoga classes, mixology classes, surf lessons, canoeing excursions, and more. Once you know how you want to spend your vacation, the concierge will handle all the logistics and booking – it’s adventure without the hassle.
The resort offerings are incredible, but there’s always the option of just enjoying the beach or pool cabana on an island paradise. Hotel Wailea provides beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, water, and has a selection of watersports gear available for rent.
For those who are looking for a once in a lifetime, no-expense-spared romantic getaway, the Hotel Wailea offers a “paradise found” package. This package includes 7 nights in an ocean view room, private jet transportation, private dining, an in-suite couples massage, a yacht excursion, and several other elite experiences. This package is the highest price tag on our list by a huge margin, ringing in at $118,000 (it’s worth noting, you can opt out of the private jet transportation and bring the price down to $33,000).
For those who aren’t ready to take out a second mortgage, the resort offers some other wonderful, far more affordable, packages as well. One of which is the “Flavors of Maui” package, where you receive food and beverage credits to use depending on the room you book. Even if you purchase your rooms a la carte, there are still quite a few perks included in every stay – complimentary valet, dry cleaning and laundry service, and a beach valet service that includes towels, beach chairs, and an umbrella, to name a few.
What To Eat and Drink
Hotel Wailea offers a number of options to dine on resort grounds, and the main attraction is what they call, “a feast for the senses,” – The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea. This restaurant features an open-air dining room with panoramic ocean views, and a carefully crafted menu that has landed them on top ten lists in Hawaii and earned international recognition.
Working from the same kitchen, the resort offers private dining in the treehouse. You can work with the head chef to curate a perfect 7-course meal to your taste with the freshest ingredients and optional wine pairings. The secluded dining space is tucked away in avocado and mango trees, making for the perfect intimate evening. This is the perfect spot for private parties or proposals.
The same executive chef curates the menus at The Birdcage Bar and The Cabanas, both offering more casual experiences. The Cabanas is a poolside spot where you can get drinks and lite eats, while the Birdcage Bar is a slightly more formal experience that focuses primarily on drink offerings with only small bites available for purchase.
