From the resort you can take short (10-20 minute), easy boat trips for scuba diving, fishing, swimming beaches, beach picnics, snorkelling, kite surfing, or to see the sites of San Pedro.
We are scuba divers so loved the easy access to diving in Hol Chan Marine Park and all of the coral canyons right off the coast of San Pedro. Cayo Espanto has very experienced dive masters and a comfortable fleet of boats. Making sure your excursion is private, first class and catered just for your interests and experience level.
A Truly Effortless Vacation
Its good location is one of the reasons this Belize resort is the perfect paradise – while Cayo Espanto is on a private island, it’s actually not difficult to get to or get off of, if you so desire. And like every other aspect of your vacation with Cayo Espanto, they make everything effortless, from the moment you arrive in Belize.
Upon arrival from your international flight to Belize City, Cayo Espanto has a representative waiting for you. They will take care of border paperwork and get you and your luggage onto your short flight to San Pedro, or if you are so lucky, to your helicopter transfer direct to the island.
At San Pedro you are met by one of your butlers, who will get you comfortably to the island with a short taxi ride and a short boat ride. While on the island enjoying the views of miles of turquoise water, you are actually conveniently located not too far from Ambergris Caye and the airport.
Once on the island and in your villa it is time to really let go. Your butlers are just a walkie talkie call away with drinks, snacks, or setting up any water sport equipment for you.
The chef visits with you once a day to discuss what is fresh and available and to get your meal preferences. The food is prepared at a very high standard with different delicious options from day to day. And your butlers again go above and beyond to give you different dining experiences throughout your stay.
The spa staff are also available for private massages and treatments at your villa, surrounded by the sound of the birds and the calm tropical waters.

Erika, the Island Guest Services Specialist, was thrilled to let me know that while they do get a lot of couples, they also have friend getaways, and lots of family gatherings and celebrations. Kids are welcome and they will arrange outside games and movie nights, along with child friendly menus and off island excursions.
Belize is such an easy journey from US travel hubs, and has so many things to offer for a vacation. It is no surprise Cayo Espanto has many guests return often for vacations or to celebrate special occasions – and always asking for their same butlers.
It is such an easy vacation and you really get to relax and reset. Everything is taken care of and the villas are luxurious and refreshing, it is a place you miss when you are back to your regular life.
