Zoggs Predator are Made for Comfort

Here at Divein.com we want to make sure you have all the information you need when picking a pair of googles – the bad and the good. So, we tried out the Zoggs Predator Flex swimming goggles on our experienced swimmer to find out if they’re everything that the manufacturer says they are. This is what he had to say.

This is great pair of swimming goggles, indeed and while there are many reasons why this is true, I’ll get down to brass tacks.

There are so many colors available that it can be difficult to make a choice when purchasing. I personally stuck with the original, blue bridge and black strap with ash colored gaskets.

The first thing you notice about these things is their appearance. They come in an almost overwhleming variety of colors, ensuring that there’s definitely a pair for everyone (I personally quite like the basic blue and black swimming goggles, seen in these photos).

My overall opinion and standout feature however – I can confidently say that the Zoggs Predator Flex Swimming Goggles are one of the most comfortable goggles on the market. This opinion is fed by the cautious feel of the goggles on my face as well as the ease and general experience of using them.

I don’t know if I like the look of these swim goggles on my face… they feel a little big. Maybe I should consider going a size down? These Zoggs swimming goggles come in both regular and smaller fit sizes.

Features

Swim goggles are a need for every swimmer nowadays. These useful add-ons will ease your eyes into the water and help you become a more proficient swimmer. Under the surface, your eyes are protected from salt and chlorine and clarity of vision allows you to experience a whole new world.

There is a wide selection of swimming goggles on the market today, from inexpensive and simple designs to high-end, feature-rich options. There are probably a few pairs of goggles that will fit your budget, but where do you go from there? We’ll let you know what qualities to seek out and which products offer them.

The Zoggs Predator Flex Swimming Goggles are an excellent choice for swimmers of all skill levels (beginning to intermediate) due to their wide range of features and reasonable price tag.

The polarized goggles are particularly useful for really sunny days like this. They protect your eyes from harmful UVA and UVB radiation but also cancel out a lot of the surface glare.

Strap

As far as fine tuning your swimming goggles goes, the Zoggs Predator Flex Goggles are really easy to adjust, even if you’re not wearing a tidy swim cap and your hands are covered in water.

You just simply use the easy-to-find buttons on either side of the gaskets, press and pull. These quick-adjust fasteners which make it easy to get them on and off as quickly as possible so you don’t waste any time before getting into the water.

Once adjusted, they fit securely without any leaks or gaps. The straps are easily adjustable and because they’re split into two bands that meet at the back of your head, they don’t put too much pressure on your eyes which makes them very comfortable to wear while swimming.

The Zoggs Swimming Goggles boast a simple, flexible and adjustable split strap system that just works - even for those of you lucky enough to rock the surfer look.

As you can see in the picture below, there is plenty of flexibility in the strap without worrying about it snapping or deforming.

A final thought… I quite like the logo print across the bottom strap – a feature you’d think more brands of swim goggles would adopt but is actually rare. It attracts the eyes and lets people know what you’re wearing, obviously a marketing thing but hey, it works!

Super flexible strap which allows you to easily adjust, don and doff without worrying about snapping or plastic deformation. It also means the strap takes some of the tightness away from your eye sockets and is less likely to leave marks.

Lens

There are a ton of different types of swimming goggles out there. I’ve tried racers like the Arena Cobras, the more expense range from Speedo such as the Fastskin Hyper Elites, and The Magic5s. It’s fair to say I’ve got an idea of what a pair of goggles should feel like. This is the first time I’ve tried Zoggs’ Swimming Goggle, and I’m thrilled to say the lenses provide a superior clarity that matches some of the big names!

The lenses are super clear, so you will be able to see clearly at all times while swimming.

Thanks to the patented Advanced Ultra Fit gasket technology, you could apply these goggles to someone in a sauna - they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the Zoggs and a slice of cucumber.

These swim goggles fit very comfortably around my eyes and nose bridge thanks to the Advanced Ultra Fit™ gasket, designed to reduce pressure around the eye socket for exceptional comfort. Additionally, the goggles are fitted with a patented CLT™ Curved Lens Technology, which offers 180-degree peripheral vision so you can see everything going on around you. This feature is also boosted by the large lens profile which contributes more to the user’s comfort rather than speed, like some of the lower profile goggles. The lenses are also polarized, ideal for high level of light conditions. While all that sun light will fulfill your Vitamin D absorption needs, the glare from the water surface can be distracting, if not blinding. Polarised lenses essentially cancel out this glare and enhance your visual clarity above the water.

Finally, the manufacturer claims that these swimming goggles are treated with an anti-fog coating to make sure one can see clearly. Unfortunately, I still experienced quite a lot of fogging, but I expected this as I often swim in colder water and this usually breaks past most anti-fog barriers. I therefore took to the pool too, to try these in a heated setting and again, there was some slight fogging.
