Testing Vorshape’s Swim Goggles

When choosing a pair of goggles, we at DIVEIN want to make sure you have all the information you require, including both the good and the bad. So, we put the Vorshape Swimming goggles to the test on some of our more seasoned swimmers, and they all agreed that they were the best budget goggles available.

I took the Vorshape Swim Goggles straight out of their box and ran down the beach on a sunny day. I wanted to see how well they worked on reflecting the sunlight and keeping water out of my eyes - so far, so good!

Vorhsape swimming goggles are a really good way to protect your eyes while swimming. Although they don’t cost a lot, they include many features that help to make them a decent pair of swim goggles for beginners and recreational swimmers.

My favorite thing is the buckle because it makes it so much easier to take the goggles on and off when you need to (especially if you have longer hair). The array of color options available is also very vibrant, so anyone can find something to their taste. Finally, I’m happy to say that the silicon material used in the gaskets makes for a very comfortable and mark-free experience.

The main downside to these swimming goggles is that the visual element isn’t all that Vorshape claim it to be.

The anti-fog protection doesn’t work very well, but that’s not such a big deal because you can just buy some anti-fog spray from any sporting goods store, which should work just fine. There have also been reports of blurry vision by some users on the internet. We realized that the lenses can be scratched quite easily, so this is likely the reason for these reviews.

I’m a pretty big guy with a pretty big face, so these might look a little smaller on me than on someone else. Take advantage of the free returns policy if you find they don’t fit you.

Features

Swimming goggles really help people feel comfortable and take pleasure in the sport. These useful add-ons will assist your eyes to adjust to being submerged in water without having to cope with the burning sensation and blurriness that arise when you open your eyes below the surface.

There are many swimming goggles on the market today, ranging from low-cost, straightforward models to high-end, feature-packed variants.

The Vorshape Swim Goggles come in pairs. I’ve tried the Silver mirror effect, so now I wanted to try the colored tint. Looks cool, huh?

Strap

The flexible strap is soft and durable, so you can enjoy maximum comfort. The silicone construction of both the frame and the strap allows for repeated use without wearing out, making these goggles ideal for recreational swimmers who swim regularly at their local pool or beach. The anti-slip dual strap design ensures that the goggles fit comfortably and securely on your head.

The Vorshape Swim Goggles have a tremendously simple buckle and strap adjustment system - my favorite feature on these beginner swim goggles.

Last but not least, the strap may be adjusted to the desired length with a single, easily accessible buckle at the strap’s rear end; this is great news for winter swimmers who sometimes find their hands too cold to adjust their own straps.

To avoid frustrating hair tangles, this design element is also a godsend for any swimmer with long hair. While this pair of swimming goggles is extremely comfortable, I reckon this simple buckle adjustment system is this item’s best feature.

If you have long hair, you’ll appreciate how easy these goggles are to take on and off with the simple click of a button - or you could just wear a cap like me…

Lens

A pair of swimming goggles will allow you to see where you’re going and what’s around you while allowing you to keep your eyes open underwater. You can see more of your surroundings with the mirrored, wide peripheral lens of the Vorshape Swimming Goggles, compared to other more focused low-profile goggles, such as the Arena Cobras, which are more adapted for competitive swimming. The manufacturer claims that the goggles can be dipped for a few seconds in the water to activate the anti-fog feature before you swim, but I still found that they fogged very frequently, especially in cold water.

These beginner swimming goggles also have mirrored lenses that not only look incredibly stylish but they protect your eyes by blocking out UV rays on those sunny open water swims. Unfortunately, the polycarbonate material used is on the cheaper end of the scale (which is why you can buy these for about $8 each!), so you’ll find scratches appearing all the time unless you are super careful.

It goes without saying that scratches will obscure your vision.

The Vorshape Swim Goggles are stylish and comfortable, but they are cheap and their durability is reflected in the price tag.

Price/ Quality Ratio

You can get this set of Vorshape swimming goggles for less than $20. This is an extremely light price tag.

Poor quality lenses that fog up easily and get scratched up quickly are standard on far too many swim goggles on the market today. Unfortunately, these Vorshape Goggles fall into this category. In my opinion, investing in a good set of swimming goggles is well worth the extra money in exchange for a hassle free swim.

Do we recommend it?

The Vorshape Swimming Goggles are a functional option for both new swimmers and casual swimmers due to their affordable price and convenient features.

They are comfortable, cheap and they come in nicely cased pairs! But if you are looking for something more long-term I would consider spending a little more money on something more durable.

For those who are thinking of taking swimming a little more seriously, in this in-depth review we take a look at the TYR Edge-X Racing Goggles, a set of low-profile goggles designed specifically for competitive swimmers who are eager to shave off precious seconds.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How to stop swimming goggles from fogging?

The best technique to prevent fogging of your goggles is to use anti-fog spray, which can be purchased from many different brands. Anti-fog spray should be applied to the inside of your goggles and rinsed out before each competition or workout. Spraying it on will temporarily fix the silicone coating and keep it from fogging up. Higher-end goggles, however, may have anti-fog coating on the lenses, significantly reducing the need for frequent cleaning.

The Arena Cobra Ultra, Speedo Fastskin Hyper Elite, and Magic5 Custom Fit swim goggles are the most popular models worn by Olympians. Here’s a closer look at the swimming goggles that Olympians use to swim their way to victory:

Are tinted swimming goggles better?

One goggle color will not work for different swimming conditions. Indoor, outdoor, and open water swimmers are all at risk for deteriorating eye health due to factors like eye fatigue and glare. Whether you swim in a pool, the open air, or the ocean, you should always be prepared with many pairs.

Smoke-colored tints can be used to cut down on glare, but polarized lenses are the most effective way to block the sun’s harmful rays and keep your eyes safe.
