Tecnica managed to squeeze in enough comfort-oriented amenities to ensure you won’t suffer unduly on or off the slopes. On top of an “anatomical” (roughly foot-shaped) out of the box fit, nearly every facet of the Mach1 is moldable, grindable, or otherwise adjustable to suit your specific needs. This includes a moldable tongue you can custom fit to your shin.
All of this talk of comfort begs the question- How does it actually ride? Scrupulous engineering and user feedback on several previous iterations have landed the Mach1 right in the sweet spot of being able to rip without crushing your feet. It’s a standout among 2-piece boots for a smooth, progressive flex as you push through your turns. But don’t let that fool you, even though the Mach1 doesn’t need a demigod to drive, it’s still a whole lot of boot and demands respect.
Note: If you think the Mach1 is the boot for you but have particularly low or high volume feet, it also comes in a HV “High Volume” and LV “Low Volume” alternative. Be aware that the HV model doesn’t have the “T-Drive” progressive flex available in the other models. For newer skiers, see the “Mach Sport” model in our beginner boot guide.
Notable Features
T-Drive Technology: Temperature-resistant progressive flex makes for predictable turns regardless of how hard you push in any temperature
C.A.S. Tongue: Moldable tongue can be shaped to your shin to squeeze even more performance and comfort out of the boot
Celliant Insulation: Heat-reflective minerals in the liner keep your toes toasty when the temperatures drop
