The OutdoorMaster Shark II is a corded electric air pump that continues the success of their first version. While the original was good on functionality, the latest improvements make the newest one popular with paddle boarders, kayakers, and for blowing up inflatable boats.
It’s especially useful when blowing up multiple inflatable boats and boards.
After continuous use for both inflatable SUPs and kayaks during summer, the Shark II proved to be a welcome accessory that makes getting out on the water quicker and easier.
The main selling point of this innovative electric air pump is the frost-activated cooling system that allows the pump to be used for up to 30 minutes, allowing you to inflate 3 paddles boards or similar inflatable products.
This electric air pump is one of the most popular products on the market and for good reason. It’s easy to use and transport and gets the job done, allowing you to inflate your iSUP or inflatable kayak using the 12V power from your car.
Additionally, the Shark II is compatible with most of the major SUP brands and many of the major inflatable kayak and boat brands.

Review
Electric pumps make it so you can kit up with your gear while your inflatable boat, kayak, or SUP is expanding. We use them a lot to test all the gear we review. For us, it means saving a lot of time.
The Shark II is a lightweight electric pump that is easy to use and will effectively inflate your paddle board or kayak. The pump is designed with an integrated handle so that it can be picked up and easily carried.
One of the downsides to this electric pump is that it is not battery operated and for this reason needs to be powered by either a 12 Volt power bank like the Yeti or a car’s. That said, the 9-foot power cord helps reach the car’s 12V output.
OutdoorMaster does have an electric pump with a self-contained battery. (We’ve not tested that one--the Whale–but on paper, it works much like the Shark II)

Using high-precision sensors and selecting your desired PSI, the Shark II is able to quickly and effectively blow up your inflatable. All the plastic adapters might seem somewhat cheap, but they’ve not failed so far.
At the first stage of inflation, the pump pushes a high volume of 350 liters of air per minute into the inflatable.
At around 1 PSI, the pump turns on an air compressor that automatically switches the airflow from high volume to high pressure. In the second stage of inflation, the pump pushes 70 liters of air per minute using more pressure in order to get the required PSI.
It is important to note that this pump has a maximum capacity of 20 PSI. This is much higher than many of the other electric pumps on the market such as the SereneLife electric pump or the iRocker 12V electric pump. Practically all paddle boards need pressure in the range of 10-15 PSI when temperatures are under 75°F.
The Starboard Touring Deluxe does well with only 10-12 PSI, for example, depending on the weight of the rider. This drastically reduces the time the Shark II needs for inflation to about 5 minutes.
On the other hand, some of Bluefin’s SUP boards can handle up to 25 PSI. This puts inflation time up around 8-9 minutes, but this electric pump will easily deal with this task and still take on other boards after.
Thanks to the innovative frost-activated cooling system, the Shark II can continuously blow up inflatables for up to 30 minutes, meaning that you can inflate up to 3 paddle boards or other inflatable products with minimal effort.
Another innovative feature of the Shark II is this electric pump’s ability to deflate paddle boards by setting it to deflate as it vacuums the air out in less than 1 minute. This is a handy feature for when you want to quickly and efficiently remove the air from your iSUP before storing it away.
The Shark II is also compatible with a number of other inflatable products such as inflatable kayaks and boats. The package comes with a variety of different attachment nozzles that are adapted for use with most major brands.
Price/Quality Ratio
The Outdoormaster Shark II pump is one of the more expensive electric air pump options, but, given the fact it can consecutively inflate up to 3 paddle boards and has a range of inflation up to 20 PSI this pump is well worth the investment.
There are other more affordable options like the iRocker 12V electric pump or the SereneLife electric pump, but the Outdoormaster Shark II outshines in terms of features, quality, and reliability. For example, the SereneLife electric pump is more affordable but it is of lower quality and can only inflate to 16PSI. For an electric pump that can inflate to 20PSI, the Shark II is fairly priced.
We definitely recommend the Outdoormaster Shark II SUP Electric Air Pump as one of the fastest and most efficient electric pumps for your paddle board. It not only inflates your board in under 10 minutes but it can even deflate your board in under 1 minute, making it an expedient addition to your paddle boarding experience.
Given the convenience and reliability that this electric air pump affords you, the Shark II makes a fantastic accessory for your paddle board bag and we recommend this electric pump for anybody who goes paddle boarding in their car.
