  • We have to admit – we’re spoiled by the 3-fin set iRocker SUP boards have. And, to our pleasant surprise, the Bluefin Cruise has a similar system. It has 2 thruster fins that are fixed to the sides of the board and 1 central fin that’s backed by the smart-lock mechanism. While you can’t upgrade smart-lock fins, you can surely speed up the installation process and get more time out of paddling (and that’s the main point anyway).
  • The Cruise can easily be transported from your vehicle to water thanks to the 3 handles attached to its body. Two of them are located on the nose and the tail of the board, and the other one sits right in the middle of the board. This is great news for anyone who has to take a long trek to the shore.
  • You can get superb traction from this board. How? It’s the combination of the crocodile-diamond deck pad and the kicktail that facilitate it. The 2019 upgrade didn’t take the performance matters lightly – rather, it emphasized the importance of having a sleek paddling surface that makes it easy to cut through waves and make tricky turns.

  • The D-rings aren’t missing either. Created for providing paddlers with the on-board storage, they are strategically placed along the rails of the board for comfortably attaching, say, the kayak seat that comes with it.
  • For more storage, consider using the front bungee cord area. It gives you sufficient space to bring essentials like a dry bag, a SUP cooler, or other paddling equipment with you.
  • Want to capture your first-ever paddling experience on camera? Or, create a short film about your paddling adventures in an exotic destination? Bluefin Cruise has got you covered. The action mount camera in the front of the board will make your filming dreams come to life.
  • The 1000-Denier Exo Surface Laminate PVC fabric is embedded with the pro-weave drop-stitch technology that, quite frankly, is our (and every other paddler’s favorite). This material makes it possible for the board to take up to 28 PSI, thus giving it the strength it needs for handling rough waters.

The SUP board doesn’t come by mail alone. There’s a fiberglass shaft paddle, a dual-action pump, a backpack, a coiled leash, a kayak seat kit, a user manual, waterproof phone case, and a repair kit that comes with it too.

  • Paddle: The fiberglass paddle is quick and easy to assemble. It’s not too heavy and it seems to pull well. The nylon blades are covered with a thin rubber layer, removing the chance of the paddle cracking or chipping.
  • Leash: Every Bluefin SUP board comes with a coiled safety leash. This is to ensure the worry-free paddling when the weather takes an unexpected turn or you become tired earlier than anticipated.
  • Pump: The dual-action pump is your best buddy. It can inflate your board in just about 5 minutes. Did we mention how grippy it is? This ergonomic traction comes in handy when your hands and feet are wet from the water.
  • Backpack: You can fit every accessory in the backpack the Cruise comes with – that’s how spacious it is. It’s also comfortable thanks to the back and strap padding. Oh, and it’s equipped with exterior pockets with reinforced zippers. Not too shabby, huh?
  • Repair Kit: This is a classic. Packed inside of the blue plastic canister, you’ll find two handy items – a few PVC patches and a valve wrench. It’s better to take the kit with you whenever you go paddling for those ‘just in case’ scenarios.
  • Kayak Seat Kit: This accessory alone is worth more than a hundred bucks. You can transform your SUP board into a sit-on-top kayak in an instant – the D-rings the seat features will help you with that.
  • User Manual: It wouldn’t be a SUP board if there wasn’t a user manual included in the package. And while it might be redundant for skilled paddlers, it’ll surely prove to be useful for those who are just getting acquainted with paddling.
  • Waterproof Phone Case: This is unheard of – a SUP board that comes with a waterproof phone case. In the digital world of ours, it makes sense to have waterproof accessories that will enable you to use your digital devices in every situation. Bluefin, kudos to you for including the case.

We can’t say that the Bluefin cruise 10’8” SUP board is the most stable board on the market. But we can say that it provides a good enough level of stability for those under 6 feet and weighing less than 250 pounds.

You can cruise around the lake in a carefree manner and expect the board to fully obey. It’s stable enough to handle every one of your risky turns and pivots without throwing you into the water. And this is, really, (almost) all an average paddler needs from his board.

bluefin cruise 10’8” sup board stability

Speaking about turns and pivots, the Bluefin Cruise 10’8” shows itself to be a performance board. It sets the bar high with its sporty design that facilitates easy turning and twisting.

The pointed nose is to thank here – without it, the board wouldn’t be nearly as high-performing as it is. It wouldn’t be able to handle harsh waves and rocky surroundings as well as it does without the construction that’s credited for it all.

Can you transport the Bluefin Cruise 10’8” SUP board from your basement to the nearby river? Yes, you can. What about longer distances? No worries. The backpack design is pretty stellar. The straps are comfortable and even biking a couple of miles with it was surprisingly worry-free.

The low weight and the relatively narrow design are also an advantage. The bag is big enough that it’s not a struggle to get the SUP in or out.

Price/Quality Ratio

The price of the Bluefin Cruise 10’8” SUP board makes it one of the most affordable ones on the market. With the kayak package, it’s safe to say, a completely justifiable price. Those who are on a tight budget but are looking to maximize their purchase will not be disappointed.

Do we recommend it?

We absolutely do. The bundle you get is worth the wait (and the price tag).

Beginners and advanced paddlers alike will enjoy all that the Bluefin Cruise 10’8” SUP board has to offer, including its 9 built-in D-rings, 3 grip handles, and, let’s not forget about it, a kayak seat kit. And, to top it all off, they’ll be able to reap the benefits of the 5-year warranty. Even though the chances of something happening to your board are extremely low, it’s good to know that you can contact the company’s customer service at any time.
