Snow Deer Electric Battery Socks

Known for their quality-price nexus with accessories that include gloves and hats, these electric socks from SNOW DEER are on point for keeping you warm when the temperature drops.

You can choose from 4 different sizes, and the fabric blend is comfortable on the skin. It has a rechargeable 7.4V 2200 mAh lithium battery and a dual charger with 2 power charging points so you can power both socks simultaneously.

The three heat settings make it easy to change between low, medium, and high. It’s a handy feature to make sure you stay comfortable and don’t get too hot or cold. The battery pocket also sits nicely up on the side of your calf and is lightweight so it won’t weigh you down or get in the way while you are moving around.

However, there are some downsides, such as these socks’ inconsistent fit. Where there’s inconsistency, there can also be durability issues, but that’s more due to exceptions to decent production rather than the rule.

Dependable Pair for Toasty Toes

If you’re searching for electric socks that will keep frostbite away, this option from SNOW DEER will provide you with the heat you need. They can last for at least five hours depending on the setting.

From the lowest 93oF to the 131oF max setting, you can stay out in the cold without freezing, whether in your backyard shoveling snow or in the backcountry for your hunting adventure. Just charge the batteries for 4 hours, and they’re all set.

They’re effortless to operate as well. Just long press the button for three seconds to turn on and off and one click to change the temperature between low, medium, and high. The light outside the battery pocket indicates the setting: red light for high, white for mid, and blue for low.

The fabric of these electric socks feels smooth on the skin, and you can choose from various sizes and colors. It’s a bummer that they’re too tight for wide calves and might be tricky to use in some ski boots. Moisture is also a problem when worn for too long. You’ll need a base layer sock to help with moisture-wicking and so you don’t feel the wiring in the socks. Durability is not they’re forte as well. With thin wires in flexible material that needs to be pulled connections can easily be severed. Most customers complain that at least one of the socks stopped working just within a few weeks.

All in all, SNOW DEER Heated Socks provide the heating you need for freezing temps. They also come with a reasonable charge and run time. Just be extra careful how you handle them don’t expect them to last over a year with constant use.

Construction and Design

Made with CoolMax tri-blend (75% polyester, 15% elastane, and 10% nylon), SNOW DEER Heated Socks have a comfy plushy feel when worn. They are high enough to sit just under the knee and have a comfortable fit for average size legs. They come in black, black/gray, gray, and black with a lighter toe box.

You can choose from four options.

The battery pockets are secured with either a zipper, a button, or an overlapping flap. Of the three, the first is easier to access. But all of them do keep the batteries safe and in place.

The stitching is clean in most parts, but the battery pocket has some missed stitches in sections that have been known to rip after a handful of uses. Additional heel and toe reinforcements add some durability to these electric socks. The electronics (wiring and battery) have been known to give out. On the other hand, your purchase comes with year-long warranty coverage in case something happens to the product. SNOW DEER has excellent customer service and will ship out replacements immediately.

Heating Performance

On paper, the temperature for the low setting ranges from 93-100oF, the medium is 100-113oF, and the highest gives heat between 113-131oF. SNOW DEER Heated Socks keep your feet comfy and toasty for up to 7 hours on the lowest setting, making it a good option if you’re out for a walk on a chilly day. They didn’t deliver for the 10 hours of promised heating on low, but they did well on their highest setting. Keep your feet hot for up to five hours straight with the max setting flaring.

SNOW DEER Heated Socks lasted 7 hrs. on low and 5 hrs. on high.

Now, the heating element is mainly focused around the toes, with some on top of the feet. With that said, be careful not to stay in a high setting for a long time to avoid burning your toes. To keep you toasty without burning, we recommend you heat up the electric socks on high as soon as you put them on and switch to low to sustain the heat. Once it starts to feel cold, repeat the process. This trick also extends the battery life.

Fit

The plushy fabric blend of these electric socks from SNOW DEER feels soft on the skin. There’s also extra paddling at the toes and heels to help absorb the impact of your strides. However, you will still feel the wiring inside the fabric. They also do not have any moisture-wicking. This can be an issue if your feet get too hot and become sweaty in cold temperatures. One effective solution is to use a base layer sock to aid in breathability and comfort.

SNOW DEER Heated Socks come in small to XL sizes. You won’t have to deal with the troubles of one-size-fits-all options like with the Belgeri Winter Heated Socks and Global Vasion Electric Heated Socks.

On the downside, these socks are narrow on top. You might find them too tight if you have wide calves, so these might not be the best electric socks for you.

If you’re planning to use these with your ski boots, just a note: the fabric is too thick for alpine/downhill boots, but they can fit in nordic/X Country ski boots. The battery pocket also sits tall, just under the knee for most. Alternatively, you can also check out our in-depth guide for the best ski socks for substitutes.

Overall, these electric socks are not the comfiest out there. But they’re comfortable enough not to get in the way of your activities.

Ease of Use

Using these foot warmers is relatively simple. The button and logo’s light indicator are straightforward to understand. Long press for three seconds for on/off, and one press to switch from red light for high, white for mid, and blue for low. The rubber material of the logo button is thick enough to feel and press through average pants’ fabric. Whether hunting, fishing, or just doing freezing yard work, it’s a convenient time-saver. No heat escaping, no cold drag getting in like we experienced operating Terramar Battery Heated Socks. But if you want the control at your fingertips, Dr. Warm Wireless Heated Socks comes with its own remote for further convenience.

Charging is a no-brainer as well. SNOW DEER Heated Socks come with an 8.4V charger with spit barrel ends so you can power up both socks simultaneously. They’ll need roughly four hours to charge fully. Remember to take the batteries out of the socks before plugging them in. If you are out in the wild for over five hours, you should purchase extra batteries as a backup so you can easily swap them when needed. But if you don’t like that idea, the Lenz Toe Cap Heated Socks come with a USB-compatible charger, so you can still use the socks while charging with a powerbank.

Ease of Care

SNOW DEER Heated Socks are advertised as machine washable. Just remove the battery and put them inside a laundry sack, and they’re good to go for a gentle cycle. But, it’s best to invest some time in hand washing to avoid damaging the wiring.

Price/Quality Ratio

For roughly $80, these electric socks are overpriced. You’ll find alternatives for almost half the price with almost the same performance, such as Autocastle Rechargeable Electric Socks. The heating performance of SNOW DEER Heated Socks is decent, and you can quickly solve some of the issues by using a base layer sock. But it’s not enough to balance out its lack of durability.
