Overview

The AZXJC Portable Outdoor Shower is a battery-operated outdoor shower head with a connected pump. There’s a great utility for this when camping or sailing, for example.

It delivers 3 L of water per minute on a low-stall setting and 4 L on a high-stall setting.

You can hang the shower head from a tree or a flat surface using the hook and suction cup provided. With these accessories, you can take a shower without having to hold the showerhead. It can give you about five minutes of bath time on a 5-gal water tank.

However, this portable shower is not only intended for taking a bath outdoors. You may also use it for bathing your four-legged friends and rinsing your camping equipment.

The battery powering the AZXJC Portable Outdoor Shower is rechargeable. It can be charged using the proprietary USB charging cable provided.

Functionality

The AZXJC Portable Outdoor Shower is an excellent choice if all we will consider is functionality. It allows you to shower instantly, as long as you have at least 5 gal of water. While it is not the most powerful one you will find on the market, it is effective enough to wash off sand or bathe your dog.

The three LED lights are a huge plus. If you have to rinse mud or sand off your body at dusk or night, you can turn on these lights to see properly. You can also use these lights for extra lighting, especially when you are camping on a remote site.

Flow Rate

The flow rates indicated are accurate. This portable shower does deliver 3 L of water per minute on the low stall and 4 L on the high stall. With that, you can shower continuously for about five minutes using a 5-gal bucket or tank of water.

It would have been a huge bonus if the AZXJC Portable Outdoor Shower came with a flow regulator on the showerhead. It produces a strong surge of water on both flow rate settings— it is either on full blast or turned off.

Generally, this shower is good enough for quick showers, bathing your pets, or watering your garden. If you need an outdoor shower to wash your dirtbike or car, look for one with more pressure.

Battery

Perhaps the weakest point of this portable outdoor shower is its proprietary battery charger. If you lose or break the USB charging cable, the whole thing becomes useless. You won’t find any replacements since it is a proprietary unit.

It will be a good thing if AZXJC sells the charger separately. In that case, you won’t have to replace the AZXJC Portable Outdoor Shower if you lose or break the charging cable. You can just buy a new charger.

Nonetheless, the battery can operate this outdoor shower longer than many traditional portable showers. It works for roughly 80 minutes on a fully charged battery.

Assembly

This camp shower might seem tricky to assemble. Setting it up can be intuitive for some, but it might be a slightly irritating task if done in the evening. It may take time for you to understand the instructions manual.

The NEMO Helio Pressure Shower is much easier to assemble than the AZXJC Portable Outdoor Shower.

Nonetheless, once assembled, you will find this portable shower quite easy to use. It comes with accessories that allow for hands-free operation. You can freely use both hands to rinse yourself, your dog, or your gear.

Durability

At such a low price, not much should be expected of this in terms of robustness. But, then again, there’s little reason to subject this to much abuse.

This shower is not as durable as high-end models, like the Yakima RoadShower. The Yakima like the Geyser far exceed the AZXJC–far exceed–in price, so it’s fair to say that this is a budget product. But there are some issues nonetheless.

The hoses are also too short. This portable shower would have been more flexible and easier to use if the hoses were longer by at least another foot.

If you want to maximize the lifespan and functionality of this portable outdoor shower, it would be ideal to get thicker hoses.

Conclusion

Having a portable shower with a rechargeable battery is advantageous, especially if you don’t have time to buy replacement batteries from time to time. For that reason, we find the AZXJC Portable Outdoor Shower to be a valuable purchase given its utility and low price.

The AZXJC shower’s battery has a relatively long life when fully charged. You can use it for about 80 minutes before having to recharge it. If you are camping for days, you will find it really handy.

However, ensure that you handle the charger with care. It is proprietary, which means it is irreplaceable. If you lose or break it, you will no longer be able to charge and use this outdoor shower.

The AZXJC Portable Outdoor Shower also has a decent water flow rate. You can get a quick, refreshing shower with at least 5 gal of water supply.

However, this shower may be limited to quick showers and cleaning small camping equipment, such as grills. For cleaning large gear, such as dirtbikes, you might need something with greater water pressure.

Overall, you get what you pay for when it comes to this portable outdoor shower. It is not top-class but works well enough for its intended purpose.
