The ultra-lightweight Arc’teryx Aerios 30 Backpack is an amazing pack for day hiking trips or multi-day hill trips. Arc’teryx daypacks are specific and this one is particular in being both ultralight and deceptively big. That’s directly due to the expandable side pockets that can carry more than the 30 liter capacity would suggest. This compact backpack has a large main compartment and an additional front compartment.
When it comes to the comfort of this pack, it’s designed with an adjustable sternum strap and moisture-wicking AeroForm back panel. The padded hip belt enhances the distribution of weight from your back to your hips ensuring you enjoy your hike without discomfort.
Made with abrasion-resistant 210D Cordura, makes this backpack stable, durable and lightweight. Other features we love include the side pockets, elastic front pocket, and an internal pocket with a key clip. It really has a lot of features.

Where to buy:
Whether you’re going trail running, trekking or mountaineering the Arc’teryx Aerios 30L has got you covered. This versatile backpack is designed with adventurers in mind. Its sleek and lightweight design makes it easy to adapt from outdoor to urban use.
While using this bag during your commute or hiking a mountain there is one thing you are going to need, space and pockets! Luckily the Arc’teryx Aerios 30L features internal and mesh pockets for all your essential items.
The sternum shoulder straps and waistband give you ultimate stability keeping the bag secure against your back when you are running or jumping. It’s compatible to securely hold a hydration system and features an Aeroform back panel that promotes airflow. This will keep you hydrated and comfortable at all times.
At first glance, there are so many features to take in. Pockets galore everywhere you look. We were sceptical about the quality of the material, as it seemed to feel too much like plastic, but after putting it through some serious testing–including filling to capacity and throwing it around in the woods–it didn’t seem to surrender to those suspicions.
For hikers looking for some versatility on an overnight trip, this will serve the purpose nicely. Equally, it’ll pass for an everyday bag for those rocking the rugged look.

Design
The simple design and lightweight material keep the pack light without compromising on design. The Aerios features a padded AeroForm back panel for comfort while the internal frame sheet increases support. The hip-belt distributes the weight from your back to your lower body while the adjustable sternum strap keeps the bag in place. On the exterior of the pack, you will see a bungee system that allows you to secure camping or hiking gear with ease.
Arc’terys replaced the regular backpack top with a RollTop closure, weatherproof seal, and a drawstring collar. Thanks to the new RollTop design you can also increase the pack volume if you have more items you need to pack.
Material
Made with a mixture of 210D Cordura Ripstop Nylon and a 100D Cordura Nylon ensures that this bag is tough as nails but as light as a feather. The Aerios bag is durable, weather-resistant, and designed with a white interior that reflects light for heightened visibility. By combining the N400-AC taped seams, and the RollTop closure, it keeps your bag’s inside contents safe and dry. The shoulder straps are made with N400r-AC nylon, ripstop, Burly Double Weave, and Hypercell foam laminated together to create soft shoulder straps that distribute weight.
Capacity
Starting on the shoulder straps you have two elastic pockets ideal for small bottles or trail mix bars. Then there are two curiously open side pockets suitable for jumpers, ponchos or 2 liter water bottles. With a wing-like design and cargo lines that tighten, these are maybe the most versatile side pockets we’ve seen.
There are two mesh pockets on the hip belt, a front top pocket, and an internal security pocket for keys and cash. With so many external pockets you can store all items and small gear pieces you need quick access to without having to open the main compartment. Other designs like a trekking pole, an internal hydration bladder clip, daisy chain loops, and a front bungee system also feature on the bag. The main compartment can easily fit cameras, lenses, food, gear, or even a 60-meter rope.
Whether you are going on a day trip or extending your adventure you need the Aerios 30 by your side. It’s the perfect size for overnight trips, longer trips, or as a day hiking bag making it one of the most versatile bags we have reviewed so far. The breathable back panel, padded hip belt, and adjustable sternum strap make this bag comfortable and easy to carry. With multiple external pockets and a spacious main compartment, you can fit all your necessary gear into this pack while having easy access to everything.
For technical hikers/campers the Aerios is a good choice. On features and quality it will not be a piece of kit that disappoints.

The Arc’teryx Aerios is durable, ultralight, and weather-resistant, making this bag ideal for all outdoor enthusiasts. This streamlined pack combines high-tech materials and simple designs to combat the harshest conditions. While one gets the impression that Arc’teryx tried to pack as many pockets into their design as possible–and that maybe they went overboard–this big will appeal to people who want an abundance of features and would rather have too many pockets than too few.
At 30 liters, the Aerios can carry enough gear for a weekend in the summer for extremely efficient campers. This is therefore either a really technical bag or an ultra-light commuter bag on steroids.
