Description and details
Diving on the Theia in Maldives
With a cruising speed of 10 knots, Theia takes guests to the wonderful spots across the Maldives. Complementing the best underwater adventures are the ship’s features and amenities. There are plenty of social areas within the ship which also double as areas of solitude giving the feeling that someone’s just on a private cruise.
Located on the Main Deck is the outdoor dining area where kitchen-fresh full meals are served. Enjoying a meal with a partner can be romantic as the scenic views contribute to the ambiance.
The lounge sports a complete entertainment system where guests can enjoy music or movies. The Manta Bar, (probably named after the great mantas of Maldives) serves refreshments ranging from cold sodas to alcoholic drinks.
For soaking under the sun, the upper deck is the spot to go to. It also has a covered area. It is also a perfect spot to watch as the sun rises or sets behind the waters. In this area is also where the Captain and his wheelhouse is. Got some time for a chat? Just stop by and talk to him.
On the other hand, the sun deck is just as ideal for those who love to spend time in the sun and get tanned. There are cushioned reclined lounge chairs, perfect for enjoying the fresh breeze. And oh, the spot is also a stargazer’s spot at night. Find the patterns formed by the stars while enjoying a drink of your choice.
A maximum of 16 guests can be accommodated by Theia. On special requests, 18 guests can be allowed as 2 out of the 8 spacious cabins can be converted into triple rooms.
Situated on the Lower Deck are 4 Superior Cabins that come with a double and daybed each. There is also a Deluxe Cabin which sports a double bed.
On the ship’s main deck there is a Sea View Cabin while two Sea View Suites are perfectly located on the top deck.
All cabins have their own air-conditioning systems and en-suite bathrooms. They are spacious and have wardrobe storage as well as safety boxes.
Food and Beverage
The fusion of Western and local flavors dominate the menu. Usually served in buffet style, guests can feast with fresh-from-the-kitchen meals thrice a day. The onboard Chef and Sous Chef make sure that only the best-tasting dishes will satisfy the cravings of their guests. There are options for vegetarians and vegans too.
Cold beverages usually accompany the meal servings. For guests who want alcoholic beverages like beer and wine, the bar area at the main lounge is the place to be.
Guests with special restrictions on their diets are also catered for. Although it should be limited to food allergies and religious beliefs and should be given on advanced notices upon booking.
Frequently traversing the Central and Northern routes, Theia cruises each route on an average of 8 days or 7 nights. During the cruise guests will have plenty of diving opportunities in the atolls of the Maldives where hammerhead sharks, reef sharks, large and small fishes as well as varieties of crustaceans, turtles, mollusks, and corals live.
Dives are done from a dhoni (traditional-style Maldivian vessel) which transports them to the uninhabited and unexplored islands of the Maldives.
