Description and details

Diving on The MV Gentle Giant liveaboard in Thailand

The MV Gentle Giant is an excellent choice for divers who would like to experience all of the best dive sites in Thailand in just one trip. With the MV Gentle Giant, you don’t have to spend much of your vacation time moving from the mainland to the dive sites every other morning.

At 27 meters long and 6meters wide, the newly renovated MV Gentle Giant can accommodate 20 guests in 10 cabins. Each cabin is fully air-conditioned, has a safety box and offers a full view of the sea. This liveaboard has two double Master Cabins and eight Standard twin Cabins. Social areas include the fully air-conditioned indoor salon with a 55″ TV and entertainment area, outdoor covered dining area or sizeable roof-top sun deck. Meals are a mix of international and Thai cuisine and are freshly prepared.

There is enough space for guests to enjoy their free time while on board. The MV Gentle Giant has a spacious sun deck that would benefit guests who enjoy the sunlight and sea breeze of the Andaman Sea. A team of experienced guides organizes liveaboard trips to Thailand’s best dive place, which include the Hin Daeng Hin Muang, Richelieu Rock, and the Similan island.

Most liveaboard operators run trips to the Similan islands while a few run trips either to the Similan islands or Hin Daeng Hin Muang. This is because of the extra fuel expense that is required to cover the distance between the north and the south Andaman Sea. But as to make our trip unique and special, the MV Gentle Giant organizes trips to both north and south Andaman in a single voyage (Similan, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock, Koh Haa, Hin Daeng Hin Muang, King Cruiser Wreck and so on). Each trip usually takes six days five nights with a total of 18 dives. So, with our trip schedule, you can enjoy both north and south Andaman’s best dive sites within just one single trip.

This special 5-night dive trip is only offered six times per year in between November and April and is a fantastic opportunity for divers to explore the Andaman Sea, completing 18 dives over six days.

What makes Gentle Giant even more special is the itinerary. Every other Thailand liveaboard diving boat has trips to The Similans & Richelieu Rock or the southern islands of Koh Haa & Hin Daeng. But Gentle Giant goes to both areas on every trip. This means that you don’t have to choose one place or the other or spend too long on your Thailand diving cruise to include them all. Starting from Phuket in the evening, the boat goes north through the night to the Similan island, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai & Richelieu Rock, then three days later returns south to Hin Daeng, Hin Muang, Koh Haa, Phi Phi, and Phuket’s Shark Point & King Cruiser Wreck. It is the perfect itinerary. And this is all made better by the awesome team of international dive staff and local crew. Their service, experience, and patience make every trip more enjoyable.
