Vessel features

The junk is a classy 33m beautiful boat brought to deliver the best experience of diving there is. It is a part of the Worldwide Dive and Sail Fleet. It’s made up of a team of highly trained divers that’ll provide the quality service and hospitality that Thailand is known for.

The Junk liveaboard dates back to the 1960s as one of the merchant fleet‘s many boats. Until the 1980s, it was used in travels from Burma to Malaysia. In 1997, the history and soul of the boat remains but all other parts were modernized.

This stylish ship is not only for the experience in the sea but also for what’s aboard. It has 6 cabins fully equipped with all the necessary; air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, hot water showers, comfortable beds, etc.

Food and beverage

The junk aims to show you the culture in every meal served and the chef guarantees you different food every day all along the adventure. The talented chef June Hong Chian Lee will make sure you have a full stomach and a ready body for the adventures of the Junk. Two breakfasts are served on a daily basis, one before the morning dive and another one after. A huge variety of delicious freshly prepared Asian and Western food. You name it, and they have it: rice and noodles, fresh salads, seafood, meat, vegetarian dishes, Italian pasta, steak and fries, Mexican food, Goulash, and potatoes… Endless options for snacks between meals are available all day long. They even serve breakfast twice on a daily basis, once before the morning dive and another time after. More importantly, everything is tasty!

Now, if you decide to relax, you can take a sunbath on the sun-kissed deck and watch the beautiful sunrise or you can stay inside the saloon where it’s a comfortable and entertaining place for all of the passengers. You can choose a book to read from the library, watch TV or just simply lay back and gaze at the beautiful scenery.
All these qualities are probably what made the Junk a famous vessel. The vessel featured many well-praised movies including “The man with the Golden Gun”: a James Bond movie and the “Swiss Family Robinson.

The junk Liveaboard gives an exquisite opportunity of diving the glorious waters in Myanmar or the beautiful Andaman Sea in Thailand. The highly experienced team will explain and guide you every step of the way and teach you all you need to know about diving. You can bring your own gear along to be safely kept on The Junk’s deck or you can rent it on board.
