Description and details
Diving on the Pindito in Indonesia
The pioneer Pindito
Being built in 1992, Pindito is the only liveaboard from the Raja Ampat region that has more than 20 years of experience. It was totally renovated in 2006, so now is operating in Indonesia. It is cruising in fantastic dive sites between Raja Ampat, Komodo, and the Banda Sea. While offering scuba diving from one site on one side, the focus is set on ensuring great comfort and satisfaction to the guests from another. And when you are on the water for so long, the Pioneer crew is unmatched. Their experience and diving knowledge is raising the bar to one greater standard.
Pindito’s Interior and Features
Being a 38m (125 feet) long luxury liveaboard, it offers room for up to 16 people and daily care by 17-member crews. Guests are situated in six double cabins and two twin cabins. All cabins are made out of teakwood and each is named after a mystical Indonesian island. All are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, AC units and fresh towels provided by the daily housekeeping.
The cozy lounge area is where guests meet for meals, relax and socialize. You can enjoy the extensive library or just listen to the variety of music and video releases present onboard. You can also savor the breathtaking sunsets on the bow of the Pindito. As the sundeck is equipped with some sunbeds, relaxing under the sun will be your first thought.
One thing that makes this liveaboard special, and photographers and videographers love it, is the camera room, located near the lounge on the main deck. Being built for digital underwater photographers and videographers, there is plenty of storage space as well as professional-grade work areas. To make the overall experience even better, Pindito offers cruises with top underwater photographers. If high-definition is where your focus is, you will enjoy some top-quality professional seminars aboard the vessel.
Last but not least, with two chefs and two stewards being constantly present at the Pindito, the food being served is international, with preference given to the Indonesian and Asian dishes.
Pindito’s Dive Deck
Pindito was designed for divers. The liveaboard offers up to four hassle-free dives each day. The deck is spacious enough for all divers to be on it at the same time, including their gear storage and rinse tanks.
There is a hanging area for all wetsuits, rinsing tanks with fresh water, as well as separate tanks for photo and video equipment. All diving is done from a well-equipped zodiac.
The dive crew is careful enough to accompany during the whole dive, making sure everything is safe. As the Pindito has three experienced and knowledgeable dive guides, you will be in for an unforgettable diving experience.
Safety is of great importance for the Pindito crew. In an unlikely event, the team is trained in first aid and has the awareness on how to manage emergency situations. Besides the first-aid kits that are always available, Pindito is fully equipped with diver’s oxygen, VHF radio, satellite telephone, two life rafts, automatic signaling devices, and other safety equipment.
