MV Tarata is a traditional wooden schooner which was launched in 1995 by the Grand Komodo fleet. This fleet is popular for its pioneer dive cruise adventures in the Indonesian sea. The elegant Tarata has a well-trained experienced crew from the captain to diving instructors and the chef onboard. The 25.5 meters (approx. 84 feet) long traditional wooden vessel was launched in 1995. It was completely refurbished in the year 2015 with the enhancement and up-gradation of the amenities to ensure a comfortable and safe diving adventure to the guests. It is a simple boat with well-organized features for the people who seek low-budget cruises to the famous Komodo and the surrounding islands. The elegant Tarata liveaboard cruises at a maximum speed of 8-9 knots per hour. During the dive at Komodo and Raja Ampat, you can explore a variety of soft and hard corals, large pelagic, pristine reef, thousands of fish species. The astonishing views of upper water landscapes and the numerous land excursions on the white and pink sand beaches will make your vacation unforgettable.

Boat Interior – ergonomic wooden vessel renovated to provide the maximum level of comfort to its travelers
The newly renovated ergonomic wooden liveaboard has space to host 12 guests in 6 en-suite cabins. All these cabins have complete eminent facilities which fulfill the need for divers. They are located on the lower deck and have a double bed and bunk bed options. Due to the lesser number of guests on board, the quality of service provided by the crew members of MV Tarata is exceptionally personalized. They are always ready to serve the guests at their best. The communal area of the boat includes the indoor saloon, sun deck, and dining area where guests can enjoy chitchatting with the fellow divers.

Deck Area – open sundeck for sun lovers and large dive deck for enthusiastic divers

The dive deck is located on the backside of the liveaboard where you can find the lined-up tanks, individual gear kits, camera station, faucets to rinse the equipment after diving and freshwater showers. The divemaster of Tarata is trained to perfection and he assists all the divers to have a safe drive. There is a large sun deck on the main deck where you can find an indoor lounge and a dining room. The wheelhouse is also located on the main deck where you can have a chat with the captain regarding the adventurous trip.

Food and Entertainment

There is an assortment of entertainment facilities for divers and non-divers alike. Guests can avail free facilities like audio-video entertainment and a mini-library. You can grab a book in the lazy evening and enjoy the chilled drinks while reading. The divers are served with a fresh and delicious surprise every day, as a new menu is always ready to satisfy your appetite. 3 meals are provided in buffet style and selective snacks and beverages are available all day long. Guests on special medication or allergy are also served on special request.
