Diving on the Majestic Explorer in Galapagos

MV Majestic Explorer – explore the iconic dive sites of the Galapagos Islands

In August 2018, the newest addition to the fleet joined the MV Humboldt Explorer in Galapagos and started offering its luxurious cruises to the enthusiastic divers. The 35 meters (approx. 115 feet) liveaboard was refurbished in 2018 with ultra-modern technology. Now, it has everything that is required to enjoy the dive safari adventures, from a top-notch crew to comfortable dives and a luxurious stay. The Majestic Explorer is an ideal vessel for the ones interested in photography, as the boat features special photography stations. You can explore a variety of sharks including hammerheads, silky sharks, Galapagos sharks, and whale shark that can be seen in the high season from June to November. Other than the underwater macro life, there are many unique species to see during the land excursions. How about adding a land experience along with underwater adventure? A perfect combo!

Boat Interior – stylish liveaboard with exclusive facilities

The boat interior and the facilities offered were designed with luxury and comfort in mind. Majestic Explorer has 8 commodious cabins in which 16 guests are easily lodged with comfort. Every cabin has its individual air-conditioning system with a remote to adjust the room temperature, an en-suite bathroom, storage space to keep the belongings, a cozy mattress on the bed and complimentary toiletries. These cabins are located both on the lower and upper deck. The lower deck has 4 cabins with twin beds and the upper deck cabins have double and twin beds. There is a communal lounge and a bar on the upper deck and a jacuzzi on the sun deck.

Deck Area – mesmerizing views can be enjoyed from the spacious sun deck

Diving is conducted from two large tenders, which are well-equipped for diving. There are individual gear bins, a charging station with a camera table, air filling stations, and tanks which are lined-up for the divers. The rinsing station is filled with fresh water so that you wash and maintain your underwater camera equipment after the dives. A large sun deck is a perfect place to spend leisure time. The liveaboard has a communal outdoor and indoor lounge with plenty of seating arrangements. You can enjoy the stunning views from the sun loungers and deck chairs.

Food and Entertainment

Food served onboard is prepared by an expert chef in a buffet style. The menu of the full board meals consists of local and international delicacies. The indoor saloon of the Majestic Explorer is on the main deck. It is a fully furnished area with air-conditioning, TV, DVDs and a mini-library. Guests can socialize here with the fellow travelers and have a decent chat with a chilled drink.

When to go

The water temperature at Galapagos ranges from 65-75 degrees Fahrenheit (18.3-23.9 degrees C) in the months of December to May and 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit (15.5-21.1 degrees C) from June to November. You can expect higher temperatures during the visit to Darwin and Wolf. However, diving in the warmer season is considered better for planning an adventurous dive cruise at the Galapagos Islands
