Description and details
Diving on the La Galigo in Indonesia
La Galigo – traditional vessel cruising the Indonesian sea since 2012
The 33 meters (approx. 108 feet) splendid liveaboard was refurbished in 2017 with luxurious facilities. The technology enhancement in the recent renovation has made La Galigo an exclusive liveaboard of its type. It is built from scratch from Ironwood, which is known as the most durable material used for boats. You can explore the exceptionally beautiful dive destinations of Indonesia – Komodo and Raja Ampat. Both are considered as world famous dive sites due to their exclusive features. Komodo is a world heritage site because of the presence of the rare flesh-eating reptile Komodo dragon. Trekking at Komodo National Park will give a lifetime thrilling experience. Whereas, Raja Ampat is famous for its biodiverse macro life. It holds a world record for an extensive range of species that are visible during a dive.
Boat Interior – perfectly designed to provide maximum comfort to divers
La Galigo was designed by an avid diver and this is the reason behind the perfect features of the boat. This compact liveaboard has everything that a diver needs to have a comfortable and fun-filled dive cruise adventure. Spacious enough to host 14 guests in 7 ultra-modern cabins. The cabins are categorized into 3 types; Standard Cabin, The Suite and Master Cabin. All these rooms have a separate air-conditioning system, en-suite bathrooms, and storage area. For a more luxurious stay, you can choose “the suite”, which has a private balcony with a 48” LED TV and a PS4. The master cabin can accommodate a group of 4, which makes it the best choice for a family or group of friends.
Deck Area – fun-filled activities for divers and non-divers
The dive deck is located at the backside of La Galigo. It is spacious and has a separate hanger area, where divers can hang their wetsuits after the dives. There are rinsing tanks to wash the equipment and many cabinets to store them afterwards. The instructors are well-trained and vigilant in providing safe entries and exits to the depth of the sea. The main deck not only has the master suite, but it also has plenty of open space with comfortable reclining chairs to enjoy the astonishing views while sunbathing.
Food and Entertainment
The manager onboard organizes multiple fun-filled activities from indoor games to beach excursions and exploring the exotic islands. The exclusive indoor saloon is incorporated with modern entertainment facilities including a large flat screen LED TV, DVD player to watch your favorite movie, surround sound system to enjoy music, iMac computer, well-stocked mini-library, and multiple electronic charging stations. Besides these entertainment facilities, the food served on the boat is not only exceptionally scrumptious but also prepared in a completely hygienic environment. Enjoy the western and local dishes served in buffet style thrice a day. Whereas, snacks and beverages are available 24×7 at self-service.
When to go
LA Galigo offers cruises to the world known dive sites Komodo and Raja Ampat throughout the year. According to the climatic condition and visibility, April to October are considered best for Komodo and October to April for the biodiverse site, Raja Ampat.
