Description and details

Diving on the Grace Cruise Ship in Galapagos

Take a unique trip around the spectacular Galapagos in style aboard the exquisite Grace. There are two different seven-night cruises guests can choose from. The first one is “Following in Darwin’s Footsteps” trip, and starts from Baltra Island, visiting Santa Fe Island, Tower Island, including Darwin Bay, Santiago Island, Santa Cruz, Isabela Island, before finishing on the island of San Cristobal. The alternative route sets sail from San Cristobal to Baltra Island on the “Beyond Darwin’s Footsteps” voyage. Highlights include Espanola Island, Santa Cruz, Rabida Island, Floreana Island, North Seymour Island, and Black Turtle Cove. Anyone during each of the adventures can enjoy and take part in activities that include snorkeling, kayaking, riding in zodiac boats, and hiking. Being fascinated by an abundance of wildlife in one of the world’s most beautiful places comes as a bonus.

The Grace has been originally built in the late 1920s in Southampton, England. As a 44m (145 feet) long ship, it contains a long and interesting heritage. Since being built, it has changed several names. An interesting fact is that it was used by the British during the war and as such, has undergone many changes since her early years. Nowadays Grace is creating a new history. By offering luxury small cruises around Galapagos, visitors can now enjoy a sense of timeless elegance onboard. If that is not convincing, maybe the fact the yacht hosted Grace Kelly and Prince Rainer of Monaco on their honeymoon will change minds.

Grace Features and Interior

The original wheel, created in 1927, takes pride in the place on the stern. There are nine stylish en suite cabins, out of which 3 are master suites, 2 twin suites, 2 double premium staterooms, and 2 are twin premium staterooms. Available to accommodate up to 18 guests at a time, each cabin is equipped with air conditioning and a window or porthole.

Enjoy a tasty and delicious buffet for breakfast and lunch, and dine a generous portion served either indoors or outdoors. During the trip, guests are served with a mixture of local and western food, with vegetarian and vegan options available. There are free soft drinks available at any time, as well as snacks that will make sure you can have a quick bite in between meals. Besides the welcome cocktails, beer is available on board, but make sure you give the well-stocked wine cellar a try. This will ensure you never need to feel thirsty!

Common areas include a beautiful sun deck, the attractive stern rest area, an outdoor lounge and bar, an indoor lounge, and a jacuzzi. Onboard naturalists help any guest to fully appreciate the surroundings and wildlife that is around, all through daily briefings that are ideal for learning more about the wonders of the Galapagos.
