Diving on Emperor Virgo in the Maldives
Emperor Virgo is a luxurious boat that was specifically built for diving. It was designed to provide luxury and comfort to all its guests providing the best facilities and amenities everyone needs while aboard. Emperor Virgo was built in 2012 and was recently revamped in order to provide the most up to date facilities.
The featured indoor saloon is equipped with temperature control facilities, as well as a modern entertainment system, including flat-screen television sets, computers, stereos, a DVD player, and a mini-library. Not to mention the comfortable and luxurious sofas that everyone will love! Surely, all guests will not run out of things to do onboard Emperor Virgo when spending late nights or time between dives – they may watch their favorite TV series, movies, or simply read a book. For those who would like to update their followers on various social media platforms, wireless internet connection is also available for a surcharge.
To those who love to feel the heat of the sun and the salty air, they may spend time on the sun decks on the lower and upper deck. Both sun decks are equipped with luxurious sun loungers. They also feature comfortable chairs and tables for everyone’s convenience. On the lower sun deck, there is a shaded part for those who prefer not to bask in the sun too much; but for those who love to get that perfect tan while having a full view of the sea, an upper sun deck is a perfect option.
The dive deck is spacious and has a platform installed. Every guest will have enough space for their equipment to be prepared and maintained. There are also large equipment boxes, charging ports, a hanging area for wet suits, and freshwater showers. For divers with advanced certification, they may take advantage of the free nitrox. Equipment rental is also available.
Safety is not an issue – Emperor Virgo has up to date and regularly checked safety equipment and emergency alert systems. It has life rafts, life vests, fire fighting and alarm systems, and first aid kits, as well as fire extinguishers available in each cabin and in the saloon.
The Cabins
Emperor Virgo houses a total of 9 spacious cabins which could accommodate up to 18 guests. There are cabins situated on the lower deck, main deck, and upper deck; all of which are spacious and are equipped with air conditioning units, comfortable beds, and en-suite bathroom facilities. The upper deck provides stunning, marvelous views, perfect for honeymooners as it gives a very romantic feel.
Dining
The dining area is on the main deck and provides a panoramic view. Guests will surely enjoy the sumptuous dishes from international cuisines that are served three times a day in buffet style. Whether you are a vegetarian or a meat lover, there is something for you on board!
Afternoon snacks are also served. Light snacks such as nuts and biscuits, as well as refreshing beverages such as soda, juice, coffee, tea, and water, are also provided; the best thing is that it is all available for free.
Itinerary
Emperor Virgo navigates in the Central atolls, Northern atolls, South atolls, and the deep South atolls of the Maldives. Some of the diving spots include Ari Atolls, Vaavu, and Rasdhoo, which are all famous for its rich marine life. Lucky divers will surely enjoy the majestic sight of sharks and mantas, schools of fishes, and the colorful reefs. In the deep South, tiger sharks, silver tips, gray reef sharks and whale sharks can be often seen in Meemu Atoll and Huvadhoo Atoll, while gray reef sharks, dogtooth tuna and eagle rays could be seen in the south during the months of January to April.
