Description and details
Diving on the Emperor Leo in the Maldives
The beautiful liveaboard Emperor Leo was built in 2008 and is 35m (114.8 feet) long and 9.5m (31 feet) wide. Set to explore the grand underwater world of the Maldivian islands, it provides plenty of activities like guided dives, rebreather diving, and wreck diving. Its itineraries were arranged so dive sites can be visited at the perfect time of year.
In February and March, Emperor Leo moves to the Southern Atolls for magnificent channel diving, and the rest of the year is located around the Central Atolls for the ‘Best of the Maldives’. Divers have the chance of getting up close with manta rays, sharks, turtles, and whale sharks.
Emperor Leo Interior and Features
The love for details the owner instilled in this vessel hasn’t stopped with the design and itineraries, but also extends to the smallest details in the selection of dive spots, services, and food menu on aboard. Emperor Leo is outfitted with AC units, where each cabin has its own climate control. The liveaboard has 3 types of cabins: a twin and double cabin combinations on the lower and upper deck, and one executive suite also located on the upper deck. Cabins have private bathrooms and hairdryers. Bath towels, as well as sun deck & dive towels are provided for each guest. Emperor Leo can accommodate 24 guests in its 12 cabins. The ambiance and intimacy of the vessel are complete through its stylish, contrasting wood decor.
There is also a modern spacious saloon with a bar. It has cozy couches where guests can relax and prepare themselves for the next dive adventure. In between, guests can also unwind in the jacuzzi on the upper deck or on the sun deck, ideal for enjoying some breathtaking sunsets.
Emperor Leo Dive Deck
The great advantage of Emperor Leo is that all the diving takes place from a large tender dhoni, which provides much greater space on the liveaboard. It has enough space for all divers on board to prepare for diving or maintain their equipment. There are many boxes to store the gear and certified divers can fill their nitrox on board as well.
While each guest is provided with superior service, the experienced crew make sure guests have a hassle-free scuba diving.
Emperor Leo Cuisine
Part of the overall experience is also the great food. The meals on Emperor Leoare designed specifically by divers, as they know the right food will provide a great energy boost for subsequent dives. The varied menus created for fueling the action-packed dives cover Western food with vegetarian options served in a buffet. Beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails are always available at an extra charge on board. Guests can also ask for special dietary requests, though they have to be requested when booking the overall trip.
Safety on Board
Emperor Leo has all the necessary equipment to ensure guests are safe during the safari. For cases of emergency, the liveaboard is equipped with first aid kits, live vests, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, etc.
