Diving on the Dragon Dive Komodo in Indonesia
This traditional boat is called “Phinisi” and it’s a brand new boat built in 2017 made from ironwood and teak wood. It is 24m/78.74 feet in length with a speed of 12 knots per hour.
Boat Interior
This boat can accommodate a total of 14 guests to its four dorm-style comfortable cabins. There is one deluxe cabin good for two, and one suite with private balcony good for four guests. All rooms have individual air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, and cabinets for clothing. Daily housekeeping is given to maintain cleanliness in each room.
The air-conditioned saloon has an audio and video entertainment system with the latest movies suitable for all ages. Book lovers can visit the small library filled with magazines and marine life books to learn more about the ocean ecosystem. Savvy photographers can review and watch their underwater safari at the camera station. The covered outdoor saloon is a perfect place for relaxation and socializes with other guests while drinking refreshments. The sundeck has cushioned sitting and tables for dining outdoors and sunbathing.
Restaurant
The outside shaded dining area is suitable for all kinds of special occasions. The chef aboard serves delectable meals from local and international cuisines together with complimentary drinks and snacks in between meals. The crew members serve meals in a buffet-style setting with a chance of viewing the ocean while eating and talking to other passengers. The fully stocked bar has coffee, tea and other beverages that can be enjoyed throughout the safari. Alcoholic beverages and spirits are available on purchase. Guests can add specific dietary requirements on the booking form to assist you better onboard. We advise you to limit these requests to religious beliefs or food allergies.
Boat Safety
This liveaboard has high-quality boat navigation, and safety equipment such as emergency rafts, life vests, oxygen tanks, and first aid kits ready to be used in case of an emergency as well as staff are trained to give first aid and can manage any situation that can occur.
Dive Deck
The dive deck is spacious enough for all divers aboard and has the necessary equipment for every dive adventure. There is a battery charging station for U/W cameras and underwater equipment. Non-divers can explore the Indonesian ocean with snorkeling to see abundant marine life and colorful aquatic plants. Rental dive equipment and snorkeling gear together with dive computer can be reserved upon booking and needs to be paid onboard.
Itinerary
The staff aboard welcome guests with refreshments and snacks upon checking in. A short briefing and introduction are given to provide guests with safety guidelines as well as itinerary plans.
Visit the most secluded islands around the Indonesian peninsula and capture manta rays within Komodo island. Experience trekking to see the biggest lizard on the island called Komodo dragon together with other exotic animals as well as a variety of birds that resides within. The best time to visit Indonesia is during the dry season between May and September. Tourists may still visit during the wet season but rainfall comes in different forms with an intense tropical downpour.
