Description and details
Diving on the Blue Spirit in Galapagos Islands
MV Blue Spirit
The 32 meters (approx. 105 feet) Blue Spirit liveaboard was rebuilt in 2002 and has recently gone through a complete renovation process in 2019. The powerful engine makes it a super silent stable enough to cruise at an average speed of 11 knots per hour and can range up to 14 knots per hour. The newly looking vessel offers four dives per day with optional night dives on a 7-night cruise. There are numerous land excursions, where you can trek and explore various land animals. You can go scuba diving at Darwin and Wolf islands and participate in land activities at Bartolome Island and Santa Cruz. You may get a chance to see herons, penguins, and marine iguanas.
The teakwood floor and wooden furniture is complimented with blue curtains, bedsheets, and carpets. There is a capacity to welcome a maximum number of 16 guests in 10 spacious cabins, which are located on two decks. You have a choice to select the cabin from double, twin, or triple cabins. If you are prone to motion sickness, then it is better to select the cabins that are located on the lower deck. They are also cheaper compared to the other cabins. These cabins are incorporated with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning units, storage areas, and complimentary toiletries. Time in-between dives can be spent in communal areas like the indoor salon, the spacious sun deck or the dining area.
The large dive deck has ample space for the preparation of an adventurous dive. There are plenty of tanks that are lined-up for the divers. Nitrox is available for certified divers and Blue Spirit is a rebreather friendly liveaboard. The spectacular teak wooden flooring on the sun deck make this place appealing and relaxing. There are plenty of cushioned sun loungers, deck chairs, and mattresses, which allows the guests to get fascinated by the charismatic vistas of the surroundings. It is indeed an ideal place for sunbathing in the fresh sea breeze and for enjoying the starling sky at night.
Food and Entertainment
On the main deck, there is a large indoor saloon, which is decorated with fabrics and rich wooden texture. There are plenty of board games, DVDs, and a surround sound system to groove on the music. Divers can spend their leisure time in a relaxed atmosphere, chatting with fellow divers and exchanging stories. Chef Johnny has been serving delicious food onboard for 3 years. He prepares mouthwatering Ecuadorian and western delicacies thrice a day and serves it in a buffet. The well-stocked bar has plenty of beverages including soft drinks, juices, beer, and wines.
When to go
The amazing liveaboard Blue Spirit gives a lavish cruise to the great dive sites with utmost amenities. It completely depends on the choice of the divers, which season they choose to plan their dive safari vacation for. For the shark fans, June to November are the precise months to book the cruise.
